Actually, you have to chew beef Jerky really well and then it breaks down. It's a great high protien snack. I eat it almost every day and it never gets stuck.

You can have both if you buy Jello SF, FF Cook & Serve. And it tastes better.

Don't know where that zip code is and you didn't lust your insurance. You should check with them to see who is on your plan

Mine does the first one at six weeks and then every two months. I've never tried to move the appt up, so I don't know if he would do it. For me, it helps to learn some self control. I've lost 85 lbs in the first 10 months, so it certainly can work. I've had five fills and I am just short of 3cc's in a 14 cc band. Oh, and I am very seldom physically hungry. Some times I just want to eat and that, I work at controlling.

Who is your sugeon? Sounds alot like mine. Mine is Dr. Lamar at California Bariatric I Duarte. I love the conservative approach. I've lost 82 lbs since preop started August 11, 2010. At 56, I am thrilled with how fast I'm losing. -
Where do you buy your protein powder?
njm replied to spoiltmom's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Nutri Shop. The are independently owned stores and the people who work there are really helpful. -
This is just not my experience. I went back to Curves five days after surgery. I was 55 years old and have been obese for 20 years. IVe lost 75 of the 125 Lbs I need to lose since August, 25, 2010. I have NO sagging skin

I had my gall bladder out 2 1/2 months after my lap band. They used the same incisions where they could. It was no problem with the band. -

I DONT KNOW WHAT I NEED TO KNOW ABOUT THE LAP BAND

Try finding a local support group. The one at Methodist Hospital in Arcadia, CA is run by a licensed social worker and a nutritionist. -
Should I wait an extra 2 weeks for my first fill?
njm replied to MustLoseIt123's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I didn't have my first fill for two months and never gained a pound. Just watch what you eat. -
I think it depends on you. Genetics, how much excess, etc. I had surgery on Wed, 8/25/10 and started at Curves the following Monday. At first I just wanted to develop the habit of going to workout, so I took it easy. I go a minimum of 3 times a week. I need to lose 121 pounds and have lost 76 of them. I am 56 today. I have NO hanging skin. I lost fast up front, but now try to keep it a 1 pound a week average. I guess I would say, exercise, lose slowly, eat right and hope for the best.

Tell him any one can lose the weight. But... Statistically less than 5 % can keep it off. Tell him thanks for the bike. It will help with your weight loss after the band

I'm just up the 57 from you. I was banded last August and will be 56 next month. I've already lost 60% of my excess wait. It's been a great journey. Wish you the best of luck -
Need support to get through pre-op diet!!
njm replied to southernrootslbc's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
I was on full liquids for two weeks and gave up tea at the same time. My doctor said this was to shrink the liver before surgery. In his experience he said this improved my chances to have a complication free surgery. That was all I needed to know, to stick to it. It worked. I'm 8 months out, 75 lbs down, and no problems. -
Don't see her in public or with anyone else, until she learns to behave. Find others who are supportive and spend time with them.

My friend met her husband through E Harmony.

In California, if you stay on Cobra for the full 18 months they have to convert you to a private policy. Not sure about other states.

They usually don't have iron, which you need. Check with the nutritionist.

I decided that this forum needs some information on this Doctor. He's great! He performed my lap band surgery on August 25, 2010 and my gall bladder surgery on November 5, 2010. I breezed through both surgeries with no complications. I just had my fourth fill and have officially lost 70 pounds. It has been exactly eight months since i started my pre-op diet. He's conservative, which I like. I feel absolutely safe with him. His office has all the support you need. I never see a PA or someone else when I have an appointment. He does my fills. I would recommend him very highly.

My motto is better safe than sorry. I want medical personel to know it's there, if for any reason I am unable to communicate.
