    December Bandsters in February!

It's funny, in my life I've been fat and skinny a few times and I have had that happen to me... you have lost so much weight you had better stop you look to thin. I laugh and say what are you talking about, you are skinnier than me! I think people are so use to seeing you with a little weight on that when you start to lose they just are used to it and the comments start. They will get use to the new you! Great job!

    December Bandsters in February!

I was banded the 19th of December and I was told after six weeks it was okay to do ab workouts. I started out with little and it didn't bother me, so I am up to 200 crunches a night. Right now I can do 100 and then 2 sets of 50. I hope to work up to all 200 at once. I'm just walking and doing the elliptical right now. I should get into the weights, but haven't yet... I can't get excited about that one yet. As far as the eating I was also told not to eat between meals and I can eat way more than what they say I should, but I still am losing so I'm not to worried about it. I have not had a fill yet. I can eat a wheat sandwich or pita pocket at lunch with a few baked chips, part of an apple and a 100 calorie pack for a treat and be full until dinner though. I have tried to just fill up at meal times and then drink in the afternoon and stay statisfied. I think you have to find your own full point without overfilling. I love reading everyones thoughts... Thanks for sharing!

    December Bandsters

I have my first fill appt. tomorrow... I almost can't wait! I am kinda scared though, I will be honest. I can eat way more than the 1/4 cup. I have not really lost any weight since the 28th of December. I have lost 3lbs. and then I gain it back then 2 then gain it back... it gets taxing on the spirit to get excited and then boom depressed about it. I will say I have been very faithful at the gym:) I know it won't come off overnight, but I did expect to lose something. I'll let you know how the fill went.

    December Bandsters

I also was banded on the 19th of December. I was so excited to start my new life. I keep track in a journal of my exersice, food, and feeling that I have. It has helped, but reading here what others go through has been a huge help! I have lost 18 lbs. and keep bouncing between the same 3lbs. Can't wait for the fill appt. this week. I find it interesting how the feeling of being full trips a guilt feeling in your head.... any of you know what I mean? I keep trying to tell myself that I really didn't eat that much! It's hard to tell yourself it's okay if the weight comes off slowly, but of course we wanted it yesterday:) I guess we all have good days and bad days... thank you all for sharing!

    Pre-op

hopeful07: Don't think of foods as if you can never have them again... most foods you will be able to eat later just in smaller quanities. Do what you need to do for now. Sometimes when I get cravings I eat something else I can have and then I go do something that has needed to be done for a while; like clean out a drawer, or take a walk around the block. Usually the craving will pass. Keep up the good work and you will be rewarded with surgery!

    December Bandsters

I have been looking for December bandsters.... I was banded on 12/19/06. I just signed up a few days ago and I'm looking forward to going through this with others who may be going through the same thing. So far doing okay, but looking forward to my first fill on the 18th. I seem to eat more than what they say I should be eating, but nothing to what I use to eat.

    Pre-op

You want to stick to the pre-op diet your Dr. suggested. I think it's interesting how much they differ from one Dr. to the next. Doiing the pre-op diet helps in many ways... it shrinks the liver so it's not so in the way of the stomach as they put the band around it. My Dr. said one lady didn't do it and when they got in there her liver was to big and they closed her up and she had to go back home and do it and come back again...that would soooo be bad:straight Also your stomach is so tender after surgery that I can't imagine eating heavy before the surgery and it needs time for the sewlling to go down and get back to normal. Good luck and no cheating! You will be happier:clap2:

    I'm a Newbie

I was like you and knew I wanted something done, but bypass was not for me. I finally was banded on Dec. 19, 2006. So far I have no complaints and it's a great to tool to stop eating when your full... it really helps prevent overeating! Good luck in your choice!
