Anyone else losing weight very slowly or not at all like me?
Holly Dolly replied to Harrier's Woman's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Girl!! 57 pounds in 4 months is nothing to complain about!! I lost slow in the beginning too. I would have to constantly tell myself....look where you would be at this moment had you not had the surgery, and that would always make me feel better. I just checked my book and at 4 months I was down 33.5 pounds. You are ahead of the game from where I was at!!!! -
Help!! Do I Give The Old Clothing Away????
Holly Dolly replied to shrcumm's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
if they are expensive maybe some of your favorite pieces can be altered. I have gotten rid of everything except for one pair of size 22 jeans that were pretty snug right before surgery. I keep it so I can compare to my current size pants! -
hely, do you know how many calories you average a day with 1/2 cup meals?
-
you look amazing!!!

I agree with all the above posts. My meals prob average about 1 cup or 1.5 cups in size. I don't measure my whole meal. But I do measure and weigh everything to make sure I don't go over my allotted calories and correct portion sizes. As far as the fruit, that can really add up in calories throughout the day. For the first year I ate very little fruit, and believe me that was hard because I ate a ton of it before surgery. Maybe try having more protein at your meals and also have protein for snacks. Protein is what will keep you full longer.

how am i supposed to consume 1500 calories a day?
Holly Dolly replied to angieband's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
As far as yogurt goes, I don't eat Greek but I love Carbmaster yogurt from Ralphs or Kroger brand because they are lower in calories. But you need more calories so pick up a few and see what you like. I did Oikos for awhile. I love Pure Protein bars, you should be able to find them anywhere. For salad dressing I like Kraft Light Done Right or any light raspberry vinegarette -

If you are still trying to lose then 1580 seems a little bit high. -

How often and what are you eating each day? Are you on myfitnesspal? If so add me, my user name there is holbraden. Look for other bandsters for food ideas too. -

I have no problem getting that many calories in. I have to make sure I log just not to go over that! I am trying to lose a couple more though and now have my daily goal set to 1200. You said your dr told you 1580 calories. Are you still trying to lose? Do you still have a lot to lose or are you maintaining? -
I just had my 2 year anniversary on Feb 4th. I made my goal of 140 I think around May of last year. I wanted to go for an even 100 and hit that in July. I go up and down the same few pounds, but have been able to maintain. I weighed in at 136 this morning, so I am pretty pleased. I am so happy with the band. I am not a perfect bandster , but follow the rules prob 90% of the time! I do know one thing for sure, I will always have to log my food if I want to keep it off......and I DO and WILL this time around!

No longer interested in food!!
Holly Dolly replied to bubbs's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I wish I had no interest or no hunger! Lucky you! -
Seeing that you just had your surgery you should be careful about following your dr's rules. My dr has now said it is ok to take tiny sips with your meal as long as you wait about a minute between as you would with bites of food. I drink usually only with dinner, but it is only a few sips at the most.

I agree with you Jacksonville! I am 2 years out and still can not stand to be hungry! Before I would eat at the first tiny little sign of feeling any bit of hunger. And after that would eat til I was stuffed. It's a whole new world for me, still battle it everyday in the head.

yes, I have had fills of .1 also. I am in the same boat. My last 2 visits have been for unfills. I am hungry all the time now too but afraid to get anymore back in!
