I've gone to bed plenty of times just to not think about being hungry or wanting to eat!
-
that's awesome! I know when I wasn't losing as fast as I thought I should be, I would get mad myself. But then I would have to tell myself.....Where would my weight be at this moment had I not had the surgery??? definitely higher than what I started at! So, don't be too hard on yourself. It's not a race, you are in this for life! Just out of curiosity, I see you joined back in 2008. What made you wait so long to have the surgery?

How much have you lost since your surgery? Could be time of day, time of month, too much sodium yesterday. Are you logging your intake? Your hunger should be more manageable once you are in the green zone and it may take a few more fills to get there. In the meantime it will be like dieting.

you've owned it now move on. You are in this for the long haul, one day once in a while isn't going to hurt you! And the band around the brain??? My friends and I are always saying that!

overnight stay & leaving children, plus DH reaction
Holly Dolly replied to MooseShell's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
dear husband, I believe! -
Learning and figuring out that I really am satisfied on a small amount of food was hard to get used to when I was first banded. I ate dinner til I was stuffed in my preband days. Now I find true satisfaction in walking away from a meal and feeling comfortable enough to do anything other than crash on the couch!

Throw that scale away!!!
Holly Dolly replied to JhonnieB's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
weighing in every day and counting my calories is a necessity for me, I don't even think twice about it anymore. I know that for me, if I want to keep this weight off, it's what I need to do. -
I wonder way there are so many different pre- op diets?

My anesthesiologist said NPO after midnight, my surgery was 12:30 the next day. -

My dr said the same thing, about wanting the liver to shrink. But I went in for my consultation with him on Monday and had my surgery on Friday. He told me to eat light on Thursday and that was it. I may have died doing 2 weeks before and 2 weeks after of liquid! -
Needed a pair of jeans....
Holly Dolly replied to Spaness2012's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
keep those jeans for comparison! I kept my largest pair to take a pic with my current pair. -
Live and learn vmarlau! Sometimes it took a few times for me to get it! I used to get stuck if I let myself get too hungry and then would try to eat too fast. Now if I am hungry I will have something in between a meal and not let me get to that point.

Congrats on an awesome job!

It should never take you 3 hours to eat a meal. Go get an unfill for sure. At that rate, breakfast lunch and dinner could take up your whole day!

Today marks one year banded!

woo hoo, awesome job! You look great! -
looking good!

I only did shakes during my postop diet. I'd rather eat my calories than drink my calories.

SAME HERE, MANY OF MY FILLS WERE ONLY .1

Honestly, I never had only 500 calories. Even my first 2 weeks after surgery I was prob around 800, I have never had a problem getting my calories in. My dr recommended 800-1000 calories a day to optimize weightloss.

You have done amazing! No bm will def slow things down, but also it gets harder when there is less to lose. Chin up girl, most people would love to be where you at at so quickly! -

Atkins bars.... (make my tummy rumbly)
Holly Dolly replied to marfar7's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
It's definitely the sugar alcohol! I have to limit myself on protein bars now. I know some of the Quest Bars do not have it. GNC carries them and also you can find them online. -
To fill or not to fill that is my question

To fill or not to fill that is my question
Holly Dolly replied to asr2468's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Everyone is different. I never feel full like I used to before. But then again I was eating probobly 3 to 4 times the amount of food and in about 10 minutes or less for a meal! I would eat dinner til I was stuffed. When I first was banded it was hard to wrap my head around the want for feeling stuffed. Now I am very happy to walk away from a meal and feel satisfied. Especially when I go out for dinner with friends and they walk away complaining how full and sick they feel! If you see Mis73 posts, look at the bottom of her post and there is a great article about the lapband. -
A lot of people have problems with eggs. I did for awhile, but now I don't have any problem at all. I have them scrambled or hardboiled. When I first had problems with them getting stuck, I started eating egg salad with low fat mayo with olive oil and that always went down easy for me.
