Feel Like Crap !!!
Holly Dolly commented on ready for my journey to be's blog entry in ready for my journey to be's Blog
In the beginning when I would get hungry I drank alot of Crystal Light fruit punch. Even now I have started doing it agin in the afternoon. If you aren't tracking your intake and calories, I would suggest that you start. It will keep you on track otherwise you would be surprised how many calories you may be consuming. -

Highs And Lows Of Weight Loss
Holly Dolly replied to highland's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My arms are the one thing I want done too. My tummy, I don't care so much about. It is tucked into size 6 pants now and no one sees it but my hubs anyways! My arms, now those are a different story! It's not so much the sagging, but when you add stretch marks in there it's not so pretty! Congrats on your motivation jeans. Looks like we both had the same idea and mine fit too! Who would have ever thought I would be in a 6??? No one, not even me! -
Don't worry about 800 calories being too low for a day. There will be other days when you will make up for it. And as for MFP, 2,000 caories is a bit high. How many grams of protein are you trying to aim for each day? Seems like many here are told to get in 60 grams. My dr told us at one of our support group meetings that even 40-45 is adequate for a woman. I am a year postsurgery and I get about 50-60 grams a day.

Introduction Nubeginnings 2012
Holly Dolly replied to NuBeginnings2012's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Welcome nubeginnings! Can't wait to watch you lose! Like you, I was a good dieter, just couldn't keep it off. With the band I am confident that this WILL be my last weightloss journey. Not saying I don't have my ups and downs, but what I have learned is that I have to be accountable to my journal. It keeps me in focus and on track. And when I go off track I know exactly where I am at instead of saying, "Well, I already ate such and such, I might as well have more". Even on the worst days of eating for me, I think I may have had 3 times of eating 2,000 calories for the day. I'm a year out, so I don't consider that too bad. Sheesh, before I could have easily had 5,000 calories in a day going out to eat! -
First Fill Question- Is This The Infamous "restriction"?
Holly Dolly replied to DELETE THIS ACCOUNT!'s topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
For me, the first couple of days after a fill things seem to go down a little bit slower. You may be a little swollen from the fill and that is why you are feeling it. The bread from the crust is prob just sitting in the pouch taking it's time to go through. Sometimes in the beginning it would feel like it took an hour or 2 for things to fully go through, though I wasn't having any stuck issues. I just had a fill this week too and now I am at 6.9. I had a little bit more restriction the first few days, I will see what happens today. Hopefully the restriction will stay and you are close to your greenzone. -

Highs And Lows Of Weight Loss
Holly Dolly replied to highland's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Highland, you are in a size 14!! Congrats! And who cares what you look like underneath, people on the street don't see that! They see a normal size person, woo hoo! I do know how you feel though, had the same thing happen to me one time in the dressing room at Target! I know I prob still look the same way from the back, but I don't care. Yesterday I went shopping to buy a pair of size 6 pants to keep me motivated through the weekend to do good. Expecting them to be tight, I actually bought a pair and they fit! Drove home with the biggest smile on my face people prob thought I was crazy! I love nonscale victories! -
I Wanna Hear Your Lapband Stories Good Or Bad. Lots Of Questions Xd
Holly Dolly replied to YumiiShyy's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Sometimes dee it may take me 10 times to think!!! Yesterday my girl and her friend were eating my favorite cheese its in the car. Smelled so good and then I come home and see my boy's goldfish crackers sitting on the table. Now those I have never had a problem with. I threw a few of those back and then I started to have a yogurt with 1/4 c granola and it started going down slow. I waited awhile and then I finished having that with no problem. So even a year out it can still be hard. I'll prob be wanting to have some of those Cheese Its til I go to the grave! Can't help what I like! -
I Wanna Hear Your Lapband Stories Good Or Bad. Lots Of Questions Xd
Holly Dolly replied to YumiiShyy's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I was a slow loser in the beginning. Instead of beating yourself up over it, think how much more you could weigh right now if you hadn't had the surgery. I was down 13 pounds the first month and only 18 by the second. I would tell myself, "Be happy weighing 217 right now because if I didn't have the surgery I could be easily gone up to 240"! I love the saying, "It's your journey, not a competition". You have had a lifetime of bad habits that got you to where you were. Habits are definitely hard to break, the lapband isn't wrapped around your head! -
Hope you sleep good tonight!

How Hard Do You "try" To Lose Weight?
Holly Dolly replied to SashaWLS's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
I'm right there with you Shauna! I had a fill this Tuesday. Well, Wed and Thursday I was still getting hungry about 2-2.5 hours later. Today has been a little bit better. I am just under 1000 calories and not feeling hungry. So, maybe this 8th fill is the charm for me! And to answer the question....I try really hard....about 90% of the time! -

Questions About How Many Calories???
Holly Dolly replied to shay33's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Wow, 100 grams of protein is a lot of protein! Mine said to eat 60 grams a day. I try to eat 1000 calories a day. If I eat 1500 for a couple days in a row, like on a weekend, I do not go down on the scale. -

I prob eat about 1 cup of food. I weigh my protein and measure out my starches to 1/4 cup. I don't measure veggies though. I do feel like I could eat more and I'd love to eat more, but I don't!
