How Much Protien For You A Day?
Holly Dolly replied to Journey2Healthy's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My dr suggested 60 after surgery. He now said to aim for 45. I usually get in around 60 a day no problem. -
In a heartbeat I would do it again! Some weeks I would lose nothing and others up to 2 pounds. My first month I lost 13, down some 80 pounds in a year.Good luck tomorrow.

I wasn't either and I survived! Good luck tomorrow and in the next few weeks!

1 Year And Counting, Loss Of Momentum And Confidence

you are close enough to even try one of the dr's in Mexico. -
I weigh myself everyday, but I usually skip Mondays!

LOVE the CarbMaster yogurts from Ralphs! If you don't have a Ralph's it also may be at Kroger grocery stores too. For 60 calories and 8 grams of protein it's a great deal. I also add 1/2 cup Kashi go Lean Crunch cereal and a few chopped strawberries too it.YUMMO!

1 Year And Counting, Loss Of Momentum And Confidence

definitley you need to find a new lapband dr. If you are having difficulty eating then you prob need a slight unfill. And yes, I am stuck at the same weight for awhile now! -
I would go in for a slight unfill too. You need to be eating. As for having a harder time in the morning, maybe try a hot cup of tea or coffee first thing. I have a huge cup of tea before breakfast and have never had any problems eating in the mornings.

How I Know When I Need A Band Adjustment

I eat plenty of protein too, so what the heck? There was one day I truely thought I was finally in the greenzone. Had my usualy breakfast and wasn't even hungry until lunch. I was so happy! Had some tomato soup for lunch and it started going down slow. That's when I knew something wasn't right. I was driving home from work and had to spit up a couple of times. I made a beeline for the dr's office and had the .4 removed that was put in the week before. I know it was my fault for pushing the limits on what I eat after a fill. I usually stick to soup for lunch only and dinner eat what I would normally eat. The past 2 fills I had 2 day of liquid followed by a 3rd day of soft foods and I haven't had anything get stuck since then. -
Yep, I would definitley not buy it anymore. There are alot of things I love and I know if I buy them I am doomed until the whole package is GONE! Maybe try a frozen protein shake instead. I have found one that I have been having for a morning snack. It's made by EAS and it's called AdvantEDGE carb control. They are only 110 calories and 17 grams of protein. I throw them in the freezer and then let them thaw out in the morning. I snip the top of the pouch off and eat it right from the container. They are really good. I took one when we went hiking a couple of weeks ago and my niece and my hubby thought it was tasty too! I have found these 4 packs of shakes at Target ($5), Walgreens ($9), Fresh & Easy($5) and the grocery stores($8).

How I Know When I Need A Band Adjustment
Holly Dolly replied to Lap Band Gal's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I am so looking for that hunger control! I am filled at 6.85 in my 10 band and my PA thinks I am at the high end of fills. I had an upper GI done this past week and have another appt set for 3 weeks from now. The dr said I can get another fill, but have to wait since my last one was 2 weeks ago. I still get hungry within 2 or 2.5 hours. This morning I had 1 whole egg, 2 egg whites, 1/4 ounce chedder cheese and half an english muffin. I would think that this amount of food should hold me over 4 hours. My stomach will growl loudly by 2.5 hours later. I have had a total of 11 fills and 2 slight unfills. I am 13 months out and down 84 pounds which I am very happy with. I guess I am just tired of dealing with hunger and the stomach growls because for my whole life I had never let myself get to this point. I read your blog and it gives me hope that I will reach a good spot. I see you have more in your band than I do.I know that everyone is different and I think I may be the person who needs more too. Sometimes it just frustrates me that the PA thinks that I don't need any more fills. This next visit I am seeing the dr! -
