I'm kinda worried...
Kena replied to Silvermystique's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I was banded on Jan. 26. I had my three week follow up today. I have lost 10 lbs. Got my first fill today (1.5 cc). I have never vomited since the surgery. I haven't even been sick really. I can eat anything without getting sick. I did notice that my urine got darker in color, but I assumed this was from not peeing as often as I did before surgery. I find the opposite, I am less thirsty now than pre-op. I was borderline diabetic pre-op and that is what I blamed the thirst on. I do not desire to drink near as much now. I also live in PA. I would say that we are very lucky to not be vomiting -

help! ate solids when supposed to be on mushies
Kena replied to mollyw30's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I was eating solids after 6 days post op. I was famished. I really haven't been able to get back on track since. I think I am getting a band fill next Thursday. I just think our bodies catch up with us from being on liquids for so long, that you just start eating to make up for it. (just my thought). I will go back to work next week. I am hoping that helps me get back on track. I am bored sitting at home in freezing cold weather with nothing to do. Just try to stay focused and I am sure you will do fine -
Congrats!! I had my band two weeks ago. I did not have to go through the drinking and x-ray process you are talking about. Hmmmmm, so funny how every hospital is different. This is the first I have heard of this. I stayed one night in hospital, came home following day. I hope you do well

Surgery next week and I need help
Kena replied to jblady's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
You are not going to need much at all. I was banded two weeks ago. You will feel groggy and just sleep a lot for the first 5 days or so. After that, my appetite returned to normal. I can eat everything and a lot. Not happy with results at all at this point, but have not been "filled" yet. I hope this was not a waste of time and money you will only need water, jello, and broth. -
Wednesday will be 2 weeks since surgery. I am getting frustrated already. I do not feel any different. I am able to eat anything and everything without getting sick. I do feel full, but am able to eat almost as much as I did before surgery. Can't get adjusted for 2 more weeks. Did anyone else have this same experience?

Thank you very much for the advice BASIMAH. I am hoping once I get back to work next week I will do better. I am going stir crazy home in this gloomy weather. I am used to working at least 50 hours a week, so this is killing me. I am going to take your advice and go back to mushy foods. I am still optimistic that once I get tightened to the right restriction, I will do much better.

Something is not right? Can't hold down even water

So glad to hear that you are feeling better -
I have been on solid foods since day 5 after surgery. My stomach growls constantly. I can take in as much food now as I did before surgery. My doc told me not to overeat that I would get sick. Well that is totally not the case with me. I am fighting the stomach growls, trying to keep myself busy. I just don't understand why I don't feel ANY restriction at all. I am eating a lot of protein and drinking the protein shakes. I just can't wait to get this thing tightened, LOL. Thank you all for the encouragement, I really needed it today. I am staying optimistic, but so far, pretty disappointed with the outcome, SIGH.

Thank you very much for the advise. It doesn't help that I am a HUGE Steelers fan, and that game last night threw me into a binge. I know that sounds silly, but it did. Not to mention that I had my son home for 3 days from the military and had to tell him goodbye AGAIN! Things like this set me off and I have a hard time recovering from it. I am going to start support groups next week. It is so nice to have other members to talk with, THANK YOU AGAIN!!

I know we are not supposed to drink caffeine coffee, but I have found that a half cup of coffee makes me go every time. -
