My doctor didn't recommend it...... I keep the lapband card in my wallet with my insurance card. It has type of band, my doctor info, etc.... -

mwinston replied to topazz's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
It took me 4 fills, about 6 cc's to where I felt, and feel like im in the right spot. I go about 5 hours between meals and feel fine...... It's really great!! -

I went to my surgeons office couple of weeks ago, it was mentioned to me that I wasn't losing as quickly as they would like to see (losing 2pound per month, s/b losing 4per month) anyway, we went over my journal, I was eating way too many carbs. I have cut them down and lost 6 pounds in past 2 weeks. I know that won't be every week but cutting down the carbs really did help!! -
Third Fill and no restriction!!
mwinston replied to targethungry's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I had my 4th fill 2 weeks ago, I feel like I'm finally where I'm supposed to be. I am able to feel "satisfied" between meals for 5 hours which is the spot we really want to be in. Hang in there, ever ones body is different, keep working WITH the band. The way I see it is any week I don't gain weight is a direct correlation to having the band because I was gaining like crazy before it. -

The whole point of going through the lap-band journey is to not have to do those fad diets that don't work long term and really aren't very healthy. I think we all know that protein is very important once banded, but at the end of the day it's about burning more calories than taking in..... Hve you talked to your surgeon as to why the weight loss isn't coming off as quickly as you'd like? Also, your weightloss is a success. Think about what you would've gained without the band!!!!
