Great! Glad things are better for you. I have never been brave enough to try popcorn. Too afraid it won't go down!

    TRUE RESULTS

Dr. Hollis is my Doctor and he is wonderful! I really liked him and he took excellent care of me!
  4. You may be able to do this, but I think it will completely wipe you out and make you wish you had stayed home in bed! Some patients will recover quicker than others too. If you have a hernia it may also make your recovery a little slower. Good luck if you decide to go!

    Male who needs help

    Good luck Frank from Pittsburg!
  9. Also keep in mind that when you begin a diet you do not begin to see the results quickly. You may not begin to see good results for 4-6 weeks. Just keep doing the diet and the results will come.
  10. My first fill was also very qick and easy. I was sore the next day in the port area. It was similar to having blood drawn to me. Not fun but not awful either.
  11. I am looking for anyone here in Houston that may be getting banded in the near future or maybe you just got banded. I am looking for a band buddy. This forum is great but I would really like to have a buddy that is nearby. Thanks!

    3 years ago today

Congratualtions! I loved hearing from someone that has been banded was this long. Our bodies are very efficient machines and we have to find ways to challenge the body to see more or different results. You have to either change something i n your diet or your exercise routine. Example-if you don't lift wieghts then begin. if you do cardio then you may need to do this more intensley. Bottom line is you have to find a way to challenge your body because if your weight loss has stalled that is the only way. Good luck!!!
  13. My first fill was 4 weeks after band and I felt some restriction for about 2-3 days. Since then I am struggling. Hungrier every day. I can't wait until fill number 2! I am getting that in about 1 1/2 weeks. My DR has me returning for fills every 4 weeks.
  14. Are you getting up and walking? This also helps with gas. Walk as much as you can.

    Hiatal Hernia

I had one and didn't even know it. They repaired at the time the band was placed.
  17. Yes!!! That is exactly what I did. Monday was kind tough. My job is mostly office work and no lifting! I was pretty tired by the end of the day!
  18. The greek yogurt I eat comes in a container with the plain yogurt on one side and blueberries on the side. After you open you mix the two together and it is very yummy!!! I have found it at HEB and at Walmart, but not at Kroger. There are some other flavors too but I am loving the blueberries!! Plus it helps me get in my daily protein!
  19. Wonderful! So glad you are feeling better!!!

    Co Worker JUST SAID WHAT????!!!!

I probably would just tell her good luck on her journey. After all the co-worker is a fatty too. Even though she may be kind of a rude fatty! I asume you will still have to work with her and get along with her. Hopefully if you respond with some kindness she may loose some of her rudeness. If she doesn't then just hope she isn't rude to you anymore. She may be jealous because she would like to have WLS too. Not everyone has the courage to take the steps!!!

    eating before a fill?

I was told only liquids for 5 hours prior to fill.

    Just banded 6/3

Congratualtions on your band. Good luck with the recovery and your diet!!! My band was installed with some fill so I did not sruggle so much until about 3 weeks after. Hopefully you will get a fill soon!
  23. 4 days=no way. You will need more time for heavy lifting. Also if by chance you have a hernia repaired that will also probably add time to your recovery. Lots of people end up with a hernia repair. A friend of mine had lap band plus hernia reapir. His work is very heavy maybe a little more than yours. He missed 4 full weeks of work. All seminars will be different. There was only myself and two other people at mine. I also did not have a pain pump. I had pain pills that I took for 3 days. After that the pain was managable. I returned to work on day 5 after my surgery. I do no heavy work at all. I still took it a little easy for the first week back at work. Hope this helps you! Sorry it is not what you want to hear.
  24. Karen, Sorry I guess I didn't have my eyes completely open this morning. Henriika I was so hoping it would be you. I hope that you are still able to reach your goal and possibly get the surgery VIA another avenue!
  25. Today is the day the winner will be announced!!! Let's hope Henriikka is the one!!!
