Any Bandsters in their 50's?
sandy1 replied to sandy1's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Thanks for your replies! I was beginning to think I am too old for this. I have a stress test/electrocardiogram scheduled for March 31 and then hopefully my cardiologist will clear me for surgery! -
I am so hoping to be an April Bandster!!! Gotta get electrocardiogram and stress test then doctor clearance. Tests are scheduled for March 31st. I am praying and nothing is seriously wrong and to be cleared for surgery after these tests!

Awww!!! Need help choosing a lapband dr in mexico
sandy1 replied to alowe81's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I am considering surgery in Mexico also. The doctors seem to care much more than anyone I have dealt with in the USA. True Results makes me feel like just a number and I get the feeling they don't care about anything but he $$$$$$$$$$. The only problem I am having is with the fills. I can't travel back to Mexico for fills. Makes me think I am just stuck using these uncaring folks here in Texas! -
Surgery scheduled but now have to do a stress test?
sandy1 replied to momnear40's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I had an abnormal EKG and was told I had to have a cardioligist clear me for my surgery. Now I am scheduled for a stress test and ekocardiogram. I can't get this done until March 31st then will have to see what the DR says. So yes I had to move my surgery date out! -
If You Had To Gain Weight to Get Lap-Band Covered By Insurance...?

slumping works! I was measured at 5' 3" and I have been 5' 4 1/2" all my adult life!!!! ' -
I went to my primary care doctor and had another EKG. The very same result. So now I have to go to a cardiologist. Trouble is the first available appointment is march 25th!!! WTH.... this is my heart health. Soooo I am going to have to reschedule my surgery for a later date!

I just went for my first visit and found out I have an abnormal EKG. Now I have to go to my DR and hopefully get a normal test. If not I have to go to a cardioligist. I am just trying to get this done and now this-more delays. Anyone else have this trouble? I am using True Results in Housto, TX.

I am scheduled for March 23rd. Still have a couple of speed bumps to get over but with a bit of luck I will be banded in 3 weeks. Start my pre op diet in one week!!!

I have my appointment at True Results this Wed. and am considering using Dr. Hollis. I am curious too about the shocked at their financing options. I am a self pay with a low BMI. I was approved for finance and so far not shocked. -

That too caught my eye!! Too funny!!!!!!! -
I have a 30 BMI. Just wondering where you are and if it was difficult to find a DR to perform the banding procedure? Thank!!
-
Should I be doing this? Mexico and Dr. Zapata
sandy1 replied to buchannon's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
My BMI is a little lower than you at 31. I am just getting started with my research and the more I read the more difficult it is. I am definetly doing something. I hate being over weight and just can't lose wieght and keep it off without help!!!! I am in Houston TX so Mexico is not so far. I love this forum because I can read about other stories and know I am not alone!!!! -
I am wondering how much cheaper is getting banding in Juarez than in the USA? My BMI is only 31 and my insurance will not cover the procedure Thanks
-
Anyone have a BMI of around 30? I am a 54 year old lady and have been over wieght for about 11 years. My BMI is 30 so I will have to finance the procedure myself. Just wondering if there are any others that are here with lower BMI's considering being banded?
