For those of you who have started your liquid diet, how goes it? I am on my second day and it is not fun! Basically I can only "eat" jello and broth. Major bummer!
-
My doc wants me to stay overnight because I live over an hour away.

Hey, here is my menu. Everything is sugar free of course. Crystal Light coffee Kool-Aid Tea Plain Jello Popsicles Sodas Plain broth Soup Plus three slim fast shakes, or equivalent (I use locarb, it has 20 grams of protein) 10 8oz glasses of Water each day (this is the worst part for me)

My surgery is on the 3rd and I started my liquid diet today. I am not allowed any food, but instead three protein shakes a day and a bunch of clear liquids. Its only 2 o'clock and I already feel the stomach pains......
-
Thanks! I am going to need all of the luck I can get. This liquid diet seems like it may be the hardest part of the whole deal.

Starting my clear liquid diet in the morning. I know this is going to be a tough two weeks and I hope I can pull it off! Surgery on 10-03. Wish me luck!

Well, I have had my stomach scoped and the doc found some erosion. He advised me to stop taking my daily aspirin as he suspects that is the culprit. I also had an IVC installed through my neck. Anybody else had this problem with aspirin? So now I have a surgery date of October 3rd. Two weeks of liquids prior to that. I started this deal on March 31 so it will be about 6 months from beginning to surgery. I guess that is not too bad. I also have a cyst in my neck I need to have removed prior to the end of the year so I won't have to pay a new deductible off to get it done. Already had two cataract surgeries and a colonoscopy done. I have been at the hospital way too much this year!

Thanks! And those are some great looking fish!

You look beautiful. Great job!

That is just the way I feel about it.

I like that too. Some Protein drinks don't even have that much. Like nectar for example.

Down 50 Lbs And Notice That Strangers are Nicer
m1aman replied to 1970MaleJaxFL's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I wasn't fat until about 36. When i started gaining weight I did notice that people treated me differently. And when I got really fat, like I am now, there was a big difference in peoples attitudes. -
Going in on the sixth for a scope and a vena cava filter. Have any of you had these done together? Any comments on your experience. Thanks.

Gained weight during nutrional eval. Now what?
m1aman replied to crazydiamond's topic in Insurance & Financing
I have bcbs of mississippi and I was told that the only weight they would be informed of would be my starting weight when I first contacted my bariatric surgeon. In other words they will not know if I have gained weight or not. When I contacted my dr. I was 400 and that is the weight they will have submitted to them regardless of what happens during my time with the dietitian. -
This whole thread is very much a downer for this guy who doesn't have a band yet. Very discouraging to hear of others problems. But I wish each of you the best. I have to quit coming to this forum! (just joking)

Is an Unfilled Band the same as no band?
m1aman replied to SoCalAvsFan's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My doctor told me many of his patients never get a fill and lose the weight they want with the band simply installed in place. -
geezus! who could read all of that?
-
Congrats on your great success! Bummer about the slipped band. How could he fix it without surgery though? Forgive me as I am new and pretty ignorant of all this...
-
Do you really want a guy that takes a cooking or an art class? Sorry, couldn't resist....
-
Hi there. I am new and reporting for duty ........ not banded yet. Thinking about using Dr. King from Oxford, Mississippi. Anyone use him?
