good luck!! i have only had my band for one month and it is the best choice i ever made! i am down 17lb =) everyone is differ..i have been lucky and have been able to eat anything i wanted like breads, pastas, rice, etc. but i only eat 1/3 of what i used to which is awesome!! i have made a lot of changes like fat free everything that i can, turkey burgers, 35cal whole wheat bread instead of reg white bread, fudgesciles instead of reg icecream..... you will find what works for you =) i am praying everything goes well for you =)
