  1. Ok went to the doctor's office today to follow up on my pre-op labs. I am anemic and he had concerns and thought about postponing the surgery for a couple of weeks. Thankfully he isn't (though he is going to transfuse me prior to surgery) and I am still getting banded on the 9th. YEA!!!:DI only have less than a week left on the pre-op diet, which has been very hard. At least I have lost 13 pounds on the pre-op diet so far!!

  2. I have been going through the same thing. The closer to surgery the harder it is to eat right. During the 6 month supervised diet I initially lost 32 lbs but the last month I gained 7 of it back. Not happy about that part, but I still keep trying to eat good instead of giving up. I am looking forward to getting banded and being able to loose this weight for good.

  3. So I had my initial consultation this morning, and it confirmed the beliefs that I already had about Lap Band. I have gone back and forth for 7 years about having this procedure done, and now I just know that it will help me lose the weight that I need to feel good and healthy. I wish I didnt have to wait the 6 months to schedule the surgery, but my insurance (blue cross) requires a 6 month history and my BMI is 39!

I hope I can remain as positive an hopeful in the next 6 months, because I'll be honest, it make me a bit jealous to see all these other members having their initial consultation and surgery scheduled in the same month! Lucky ducks! Anyone else in a waiting period?

I too am in the middle of the 6 month diet per insurance. It has been hard to wait, but I am glad that I am doing it. I feel it has helped me be better prepared for eating after the band. The bonus is that in changing my eating habits I have lost over 25 pounds in the last 3 months. I still have 2 more meetings, plus the pre-op diet. I hope to be banded in May sometime. Good luck on the diet and it will fly by.

  4. Hi there. My name is Kris and I live in Glendale, AZ. I am new to this sight. I started going through the process of getting banded back in October 2010. I am 3 months into the insurance mandatory diet with 3 months to go. I am hoping to get banded in May after I take finals for school. I am currently in my 3rd semester of nursing school. I am excited about getting banded.
