I am 7 days pre-op and have been in depression since my surgery..I wish I would have not gotten it..there is a lot I did not find out until after I was banded...I am just know hearing about thus stuck thing...that scares the hell out of me...I think will never eat anything other than tuna and yogurt out of fear this will happen to me...bread is my favorite food I had no idea i would have to give it up completely...I thought this band was just about portion sizes not being deprived....what have I done to myself? -
your post is so encouraging and I need that right now. I have only been banded one week and I want it out! I cry everyday that I have made the wrong decision!. I have been in a lot of pain and I can't sleep in my bed at night..I'm on the couch sleeping sitting straight up...is this gonna be the rest of my life? I am so scared and depressed right now! I need help

I was banded on Monday and boy did I have a horrible week..I also had my gall bladder removed at the same time...today was the first day I started to feel better...I was able to lie on the bed for the first time last night. I had been sleeping sitting straight up...I am also very weak from not eating.starting to get a little depressed but on a positive not I have lost 15 pounds...hopefully things get better soon -
I was banded Monday...it has been a horrible week for me as far as pain....now today I am starving...this liquid diet is for the birds! But I am sticking with it! I just can't wait for the mushie stage! I am craving tuna fish and chicken in the can mixed with that new Philadelphia cream cheese cooking creamo...ugh I'm starved!..anyone have good mushie ideas?

Trish you are in my prayers....my heart goes out to you...I am having the lap band on Monday...I was told that I was to heavy to conceive so I am praying losing weight will help me...just wanted you to know that your story has helped me..I am going to my husband about getting his sperm count checked...thank you for sharing and God bless you! -

These were amazing stories that truly inspired me...we have been trying to conceive for about 7 years...I have irregular periods....my periods stay on for 2 long...my Dr had me get on birth control and ordered me to lose weight in order to regulate my period. This worked for awhile but recently my period is out of wack again... I am praying for the same out come once I get the lap band! Thank you all for these encouraging stories. -

How bad is the pre-op blood work that you have to have done before the surgery? I have heard that the ABG Arterial Bood Gas is very painful. I am more scared of having this done than I am the actual surgery.. I know that sounds silly but I am afraid of needles!

Hi there...Hooe you get to feeling better soon..I am such a big baby when it comes to any kind of pain...I cry when I get pedicures LOL but I am just going to put my big girl panties on and deal...I think the lap band will change my life forever!

Hi Shari- I to am just getting started on my lap band journey...I still can not believe I am going to go thru with it....This week I have all of Dr. appts, the nutrionist and the mental evaluation... I think getting the lap band is going to change my life! I goal is to lose the weight and finally be able to get pregnant...it is going to be some journey for me! hope to hear from you~ prell -
I have had a weight problem since I was a young child. I have tried just about every diet and have not been successful with keeping the weight off. I want to become a mother but my Dr said my weight is making that impossible. I am blessed to have a amazing supportive husband. I have decided to have the lap band surgery. I am very nervous but I think this is the right decision for me!
