  2. Hi there, I saw Dr. Brebbia was your doctor? I am scheduled to have my surgery sometime in April and he will be doing it too. Have you already had surgery? How did it ? Best of luck to you.

  3. I eat salad all the time and it has never once got stuck! Then again, I am only 4 weeks out as of March 11th!

  6. So surgery is tomorrow at 12pm (est). I am super excited but also very nervous!! I hate surgery and I always take longer to come out of anesthesia! I have to report to the hospital by 10:15am! Super stressed at the moment though because my daughter who is 4, is home sick with the flu and I have no one to watch her right now! I hate having to find childcare very last minute! Ughh! Some hopeful thoughts and prayers would be great to help me get through the night tonight and the next few days!!
  7. Thanks, I appreciate it! It does put my mind a bit at ease!!

    February 2011 Bandsters?

I am also scheduled for February 11th, 2011! And super excited but very nervous!!
  9. So Im a little worried! I have surgery on Friday, February 11th, 2011. I was suppose to be on a 10 day pre-op diet which started on Feb. 1st. I was doing great but then my mom got hospitalized and was very ill so I was in the hospital with her. While I was with her for the 3 days, I would eat 1 meal a day. I didnt stuff my face but I did eat. My surgeon wanted me on a 10 day pre-op liquid diet! Meaning I could have no solids. That's what he requires for all his patients. Will it make a big difference in surgery? Im scared they'll have a hard time doing the surgery or something. I dont have a set amount of weight to lose before surgery so that's not an issue. Im just wondering if anyone has been there and been okay? If not, does anyone have any suggestions? I plan to stick to the full liquid diet until then, I just wanted to see what everyone else had to say!

    TRICARE PRIME PATIENTS

Tricare approved me without hesitation. I have a BMI of 48.9 but I also have several health problems. To my understanding though, Tricare requires you have a BMI of at least 40 or be at least 100 pounds over your ideal weight (not the weight you think you should be at but what the doctor considers healthy). However, if you match that and do have some of their health problems listed, it'll make it much easier! My process started last month and Im scheduled for surgery on February 11th! Good luck ladies and gents! Tricare does require a psych eval and nutrition eval and possibly some other tests if you havent had them recently such as a sleep study. Im also from Dover, DE stationed at Dover AFB. My husband is active duty air force!

    Need someone to talk to!

Hi everyone! Thanks for all the posts! For those who asked me to send them a message, I did! I just cant help but to feel nervous and to think about the surgery all the time! I start my 10 day pre op diet tomorrow which for me, consists of my protein shake 5 times a day and the rest of the day is liquids! My doctor told me that if I must have something, I can have a small salad with low carb dressing as my last meal of the day. Im nervous! My doctor wanted me to use OptiFast but it's so expensive so Im thinking of using the No Sugar Added Carnation Instant Breakfast! Has anyone tried it before and actually liked it?

    PCOS pregnancy success story.

These stories give me some great hope! I had my daughter at 15 which kick started all my problems. I now have PCOS but am severely over weight! Weighing about 285 at 5'4. I get banded on February 11th, 2011! I am hoping to be able to get pregnant about 9 months to a year out after being banded!
