I was little disappointed when my doctor told me that I would not be getting my first fill. He said that my acid reflux was still too bad. My heart fell to the floor. I will be 6 weeks post surgery on Monday and I was expecting to get my first fill and continue on my weight loss journey. I have lost 23 pounds and I am very happy for that but I am so wanting the weight to fall off. I guess it will be will power for another 4 weeks. My doctor says that I "MAY" get my first fill on my next visit which is March 30. Please pray that I do. I am already starting to feel a little hungry at times and I do not want to gain any of my weight loss back. Not really patiently waiting, but no choice.

Hi Everyone, I had my Lap Band surgery on Monday January 24 and it seems as though I can't swallow water or anything without belching. I am currently on an all liquids diet. I am also having a lot pain in my back. any advice for this new bander?

Wow. I am so glad I found your blog! On Monday I will be 4 weeks post op but I am feeling the same way as you have described in your post. I haven't gained any weight back (17 pound loss) but the majority of that was before surgery (on the liquid diet)! I have become obsessed with the scale and frustrated that the number I see isn't falling. I am really struggling with the diet and drinking enough fluids. It seems as though only those that are really successful with band and weight loss post. I am so thankful for you post. I am already praying for you and will continue to keep you in my prayers. We can do this and we will be successful. Good Luck and thanks for sharing your "true" feelings

Monday will be 3 weeks post surgery for me. It's been a rough go for me after surgery. My doctor says that my body is not accepting the band as well as most. I still have a lot of swelling and can feel everything that goes down my throat. But there is always a silver lining.... I have lost 17 pounds . I'm going back to work Monday. Putting everything in God's hands!

My doctor was just letting me know that I was healing at a slower rate. I'm just one of those people who heal a little slower than the average. He says that after 3 weeks most people do not feel as much restriction as I do. Like you ,I still feel everything that I am swallowing. This should be better now. Don't get me wrong, I haven't vomitted or anything like that. I am just still feeling very uncomfortable. Good luck to you too!

AmyH33, I think that I am drinking slow, but I am going to take your advise and pay closer attention to how I am eating. Thanks!
