At work, forgot lunch...where to go???
TexasNurseMom replied to emsbugbug's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I like fajita tacos and just toss out the tortilla. With some beans in the side. High protein and keeps you full. Or Gilles chicken sandwich no bun. I keep tuna in my locker at work to avoid thus situation -
Just had my first super stuck with PB and vomit episode. Yuck and scary! I are a ricotta bake I have made amy times before. I had three bites and felt huge pain and stuck feelings. I tried to wait it out but then I started sliming and new what was coming next. I ran outside and coughed and it all kinda came up. I feel better now, but sore. I am scared I messed something up! How do you know if you have a slipped band? THining I will go back to liquids for 24 hrs and see how I feel after that.

Late Night Eating....can you or is it a no-no for you?
TexasNurseMom replied to barbie1978's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I eat at weird hours because of my job. I am a nurse and work a 12 hr night shift 3-4 days a week. So a lot of times I have to eat at "night". It is not a prob for mr , but I am definitely tighter when I wake up no matter what time if day that ends up being. Can't eat for a couple hours after I wake up -

TexasNurseMom replied to spoiltmom's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I would do it too. Some college offer online or classes where you do the exercising on tour own time and do something like bi weekly checking on your weight ad strength etc. That may be a good option for you if it is available and you can do it b -

This has been Pretty Easy so Far.....
TexasNurseMom replied to mattie7632's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
It has been easier than thought it would be so far but I am not saying it has been a cake walk either. I have days that I go off the wagon and eat something I know I'd bad fr me like cookies or something, overall I have done well. I do exercise most days but now that I have so much energy I really like it I have I only had one fill so far and have prett good restriction. I am down 40 lbs in 6 weeks. -
How much time should I plan to take off?
TexasNurseMom replied to MonikaHF's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I only took off a week. I am an RN and should have taken off more time but didn't. I didn't have pain but I got tired really easily and was very burpy still and that was kind of embarrassing around patients. -
Bubbles Bubbles Everywhere but not a drop to drink
TexasNurseMom replied to Gunnersgal's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I like the chewable gasx or the gasx strips. They were my lifesaver the first couple weeks. Also for some reaso if I lie on my right side I am able to burp easier. Hoe that helps and I promise it gets better! -

What Does Burping Mean For You?
TexasNurseMom replied to cantdecide's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
After a fill it is normal for me to be burpy. Otherwise it means I ate too fast and or too much -
Went shopping for some spring clothes and Easter dress this week. Am down to 18/20 from a tight 24! Bought some ew stuff and even some new peep toe pumps! Felt so pretty and cute. I haven't felt that way in a really long time!

I had my first fill last week and I can tell a big difference. Don't have shoulder pain but definitely have gas. Very burpy like I was post op. How that helps. I think it iis normal. Do you feel tighter? Are you eating less? Just wondering b/ c I can really tell a difference

hamburgers, I want one bad!
TexasNurseMom replied to dramastarr's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I eat a burger patty once or twice a week. I get te low fat frozen ones and cook with Pam on my electric griddle. Top with jalapeño jack slice cheese, pickle, lettuce and tomato. I really don't miss the bread. It satisfies that craving for fast food pretty well for me. -

I ate a lot of Avacado, refried beans, scrambled eggs and pudding at that loin in my recovery. I am 6 weeks out now and on regular foods. If I can make it so can you. -
I try to eat around 1200 cal/ day. About 60g protein. I also use myfitnesspal.com. I have it on my phone, by you can do it online too. Teapots helps mr keep track of my nutirent intake.

Which food are forever restricted?
TexasNurseMom replied to momnear40's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Steak as long as it is tender and not dry is not a problem. Popcorn is ok too. I like the microwave 100 cal packs. Bread is for sure on my no no list. Tried one bite of croissont and got stuck. Have heard toast is ok but too scare to try and I really don't miss it -
Had first fill today. Now have 5 cc my 11 cc band. Feel kinda strange. Not really tight exactly, just strange. Was told I can continue on regular foods. Not sure about that. Ate like 5 bites grilled salmon at lunch and feel stuffed. Is this normal?

Made this tonight when the rest of the family was having pizza. In a small baling dish spread Pasta sauce on bottom. Dice mushrooms, bell pepper ad black olives and sprinkle over sauce. Spear layer of ricotta on top. More sauce to cover cheese. Then sprinkle parmesan on top. Bake at 350 for 20 min until bubbly. So yummy! Can leave out veggies for those in mushy stage or can add ground meat for extra Protein if you like v
