Texas Where You At???
TexasNurseMom replied to jhaywoo's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I live in Gonzales, about an hour from Austin. i was banded 2-10-2011. have lost about 90 pounds. -
This may get better with time. I use a straw all the time due to sensitive teeth issues. I have been banded for year though. But it doest seem to cause me any issues

Ok. Now it is my turn to ask something embarrassing. I have been married to my dh for 12 yes and thought for the last 5 or so that the loving was lacking excitement for me just due to the fact we had been together so long ad "done it all" in bed and that it was normal for things to get kinda vanilla (plain) in that area of our lives. But now that I have been losing weight and have more energy we are having sex more often which is good. And it is more exciting and I am more sensitive down there and he even said he could tell a difference. Was my fat lady bussiness to blame for our lack of lust? Well I am glad that is resolving now! Anyone else have this experience?

Poll: Which shake is the best?
TexasNurseMom replied to mamajen1221's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I like the muscle milk. chocolate is good, banana is good too. Did not like Cookies and cream flavor. I Like the ready to drink kind. EAS advantage is good too. Also really like unjury chocolate. -
I have beentold and have heard thy bread and pasta are big no no's and will get stuck and be very problematic. That said, I keep seeing people post about what they are eating and this often includes sandwiches, English muffins, bagels and even subway! Really? And this doesn't cause problems? I am too scared to try it.

no fill, normal?
TexasNurseMom replied to oceangirl6's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Did he put fluid in when you had the band placed? Mine did. I had 4 cc after surgery. Didn't know that until went for 6 wk visit. Have only had one fill , so I gave 5 cc and good restriction. Down 61 lb in 3 months. Guess it is different for everyone -
Really? I can't do bread at all. Do ok with tortillas, so maybe could to a wrap. But bread makes mr miserable!

Anyone else obsessed with the scale after surgery?
TexasNurseMom replied to isabella2's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I am three months out and weigh daily after I go potty and before I eat. And I weigh naked. But, I only record my weight on Monday. I am obsessed. Right now I haven't list all week and it is frustrating me, but I haven't gained either. Down 61 lb total! -
Have been having pain under the left side of my ribs since Wednesday. Thought it was gas. Gas reliefs methods didn't work. Called surgeon Friday. Admitted to hospital sat morning. Thought band was infected or rejecting. I am 3 mos post op and 58 lb down. CAT scan and EGD found band if fine. But I have pneumonia and fluid around my left lung. Crazy! I feel fine other than pain with deep breathing. No fever. Labs normal. Got to come home today but off work for a week and on oral antibiotics for ten days. Glad it wantmy band, but this still sucks!

Pain was not what I thought

They saw the fluid on the CT scan. If the pain is on the right side it may be your gallbladder -

Any february bandsters out there?
TexasNurseMom posted a topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Any fellow February bandsters there? How is your journey going? I was banded on 2-10. In San Antonio at true results. Am on all reg foods now, just way smaller portions then before. I am down 15 pounds since surgery, 35 lbs total with pre op diet included. I feel great. Haven't had ant major issues so far. Have gotten stuck a couple times but I think it was bc I ate too fast not bc of what I am eating. -
Love this post! Here are my NSV's so far: 1. I fit into an xl in the ladies department. No more plus size for me! 2. I feel more confident and comfortable in my own skin. I finally am starting to look on the outside the way I feel on the inside 3. My bedroom life with hubby is much better because I am more confident and more willing. 4. I don't eat fast food on a daily basis 5. My rings and watch are too big now! 6. I can tie my shoes, cross my legs and clip my toenails without a big belly in the way 7. Have not had soda, bread or Pasta in 2 months; and I don't miss it at all!

Am I in the Green Zone or over filled??
TexasNurseMom replied to Purpleshell's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I have the same TOM issue. Have heard from other this happens to them too. Also am having the same tighter feeling. I really am struggling with eating slowly. And I feel like I have to make myself eat. I can go 7-10 hrs with out feeling hungry. So as far as I can tell you are in the green. Just slow sown eating and sobt worry about portion size as long as you are getting your protein in -
No longer morbidly obese.. just plain old obese! And I'm loving it! HA

First Fill 3ccs?
TexasNurseMom replied to hellokittymt's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My doc pits 4 cc in at surgery which sounded crazy to me. And my first fill was 1 cc so now I have 5 cc total. If I have learned anything from this site it is that every doctor is vastly different I. Their approah to banding so just do whatever yours says and you should be fine -
Loving to exercise
TexasNurseMom replied to trish151's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I feel the same way! I used to loathe exercise. Now I love it! On days I don't get to go I feel awful and I miss it -
Fastest Lap Band Weight Loss?
TexasNurseMom replied to 1970MaleJaxFL's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
Idk about that, but I can tell you I have lost 16% in two months, which for me is 42 lb. I am pretty happy with myself for that! -
DOES PROTEIN REALLY MATTER.......!!???????
TexasNurseMom replied to caramellyregina's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Plus if your protein intake is too low you will lose muscle mass instead of fat -
Why......
TexasNurseMom replied to gotmyeyeontheprize's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I too have the gut/ belly. I have lost 42 lb and am smaller all over, but could priv go down another pant size if my belly was smaller. But I just try to look at the positives of the weight loss and I do feel good all over in general. And I too wear spanx to control the jiggle in certain clothes -
Lol Having a garAge sale in a couple weeks and was pricing stuff this morning. Caught myself thinking " wow, these pants are huge!" lol. They used to be my favorite pair!
