    Pain when I eat

You may be having spasms. I had surgery on the 16th and am on doxcipin. It has helped a whole lot. My dr says it is common in sleeve patients and I may need to be on this med for a month or so but it will stop.
  2. I think you hit the dreaded 3wk stall. I have done the same thing. Sucks I know, no matter how much I have read about it, I still feel really disappointed. I have to rely on everyone's experience that if we keep working the plan the weight loss will resume.
  3. I do well eating all day, stoping before too full except for supper. For the third night, I find myself with that Why didn't I stop at that last bite feeling. I think I need to weigh out 2 oz instead of 3 at supper and end it there.

    First surgery

I am 45 and I found this to be fairly easy recovery from surgery. I think child birth was harder for me. I took very few pain meds once home. The hard part is learning how to eat.

  10. Some of bcbs plans require center of excellence as well as being in network.
  11. Lately when I drink, I am getting cramping. Sometimes it is an 8 or so on the pain scale but quickly passed within 1 min or so. Other times there is no pain, or a lower pain scale for a longer time. I am able to keep myself hydrated and generally feel good. Other possible factors, I have not had a decent bm since surgery and it is my time of the month.
  12. Called the dr just to be safe. He thought it was just esophagus having spasms. Said to back off all food and drink water. Warm or hot water.
  13. I am over a week out and recover has been uneventful. Tonight's however I have had pains in my shoulder and back. They feel a lot like gas pains but wasn't sure they would last this long.
  14. I decided to try some French onion soup today. Talk about painful. Didn't expect that at all.

    Tummy tuck?tattoo?

Personally I would wait. Just seems like it would be an extra thing that could limit how the surgeon sculpts the area.

    Feedback Appreciated

I would start tracking everything you eat. That will help you see what you are actually intaking. From there, you can fine tune more protein or water or whatever you may need.

    No wants to eat

I have to work at remembering to eat. I am only a week out so my Dr says that is to be expected. You do need to make sure you get plenty of protein in or you will start to use your muscles for energy to live. I have read many have to plan each meal ahead. That may help you. Plan each day out what you are going to have so you meet your nutritional goals

    First Post-Op workout!

What does your doc say? Mine wants me to be walking only at this stage. IMO it is easy to overdo exercise and slow your recovery.
  21. I got home yesterday and continue to do well. It is so strange not being hungry. I have to work on drinking. It's easy for me to forget to sip for some reason. I am having to watch myself so I do not over do it. I did a bunch of errands today and it was probably a bit too much. I have told a lot of people now that the surgery has been done. A few negative comments but more out of ignorance that meanness. I had one person tell me that my stomach will grow back. Umm no. Yes it can stretch but not to the size it was. I haven't gotten on the scale yet as I wanted to give me some time to shed the fluids they pump into me.

    Nausea

Ask for the scope patch. I was sleeved on the 16 and that finally helped me. I was miserable too but once the patch started, I turned the corner.
  23. So sad. I know my eating habits did not allow my kids to always make the healthiest choices as easy as they should be. They are getting better though. The family needed major intervention. Sadly I have a feeling the boy will have complications as the family is not making follow up appointments.
  24. Each doc has their own methods. And that will change depending on how you do. I am 4 days post op, and take over the counter Prilosec tablets with out difficulty. If you have difficulty they will find something to work with you.

    Surgery today!

If you have nausea ask for the scope patch. That worked so well for me, the other 2 meds peregen and re???? Knocked me right out. Walk walk sip sip. And as bad as you may feel, you will be amazed how much better you felt in even 10 hrs more.
