  1. Hey Lillynushoes Waving from Adelaide to Melbourne  Thanks for sharing your experience. I'm pleased it was a small thing and nothing serious for your husband while in CCU. (giggle at indigestion) As for your experience with the band GOSH it doesn't sound good. The only part I can relate to is the pain when eating a couple of mouthfulls. This only happens when I eat Jelly (the only sort of solid i'm eating at the moment) I can manage about 3-4 spoons then I have to stop casue it hurts, but differently from you I feel full (I think) Sometimes its hard to know. I'm hoping as time goes on I will get a better feel for this. I would be depressed in your situation undoubtedly NO weight loss after 3 months and all that cost and suffering. Tell me has the Dr done an xray to see if the band slipped? I always say trust your feelings, in your case you felt the band had slipped. I would be getting hot onto the Dr in your case and demanding (nicely) answers or my money back. Good luck with your latest fill and weight loss. I guess we have some responsibility to be concious of what we put in our mouths also. I'm too scared to try anything other than solids, if jelly hurts, what is real food going to do? Sorry I don't have an answer re if the band has slipped or not. But my sincerest wishes for your future CHEERS

    Aussie Roll Call

G'day Fellow Aussie's How great to find this supportive and informative site and now to find an aussie section (doing a lil dance). I'm from Adelaide - South Australia and had my banding done on the 19th December. I dropped 5.4 kilos while in hospital 4 days and nothing since (sad face) I hope I lose this week. I'm on liquids broths, milky drinks, drinking yoghurt, jelly for 4 weeks till 21.1.07 ooooooh bring on the vitamised food I can't wait. I'm quite satisfied (not hungry) with the liquids, but so hanging for something that tastes like food. It was only 18 days from the time I saw my surgeon for the 1st time till I had my surgery, I didn't have to do any pre op weight loss or liquid dieting, although I did for my own benefit. As soon as I knew my Op date I went onto Optifast twice a day and had my fave foods each night. great to make this connection with you all, please post me back and lets share and compare stories. Feel free to contact me CHEERS Mates
  3. Hi Maggii I had my banding done on 19th December 2006 by Dr Paul Leong, (Adelaide - South Australia) he is such a nice Dr and very very experienced. Ahttp://www.obesitysurgeryadelaide.com.au/ He does somewhere between 6-8 surgerys a week at just 1 hospital that I know of. My surgery went without complications. Best decision I have ever made  You can read more about my surgery in the introductions on this site. Feel free to send a message or mail if you want any further support. CHEERS PS I saw him for the first time on the 1st December and had surgery on the 19th (All smiles)
  4. Hi The New Me,So sorry to hear of your misfortune with the surgery. My surgeon is very experienced and does 6-8 a week at the Hospital I went to, which was 5 mins from home.I had my surgery done on the same day as yours, with no complications or problems. It's great that you share your news and experience, again sorry it was such a bad experience for you. I sure hope you get to feeling better real soon and can be excited again about your new life ahead on 2007. I suffer greatly from anxiety associated with Dr's, Hospitals and surgery, so having the surgery was a major decision for me. When I woke up alive I felt greatful. I feel like I've been given a second chance at life and I'm going to embrace it fully. All the best to you, keep us posted on your sucess CHEERS

    Here's to a new BEGINNING!!!

Hi Gigi I was scheduled to have my band on 8th January 2007 also, but got a phone call to say I could have 19th December 2006. I welcomed the early date and now glad I am on this side of the surgery. It was a huge decision for me. And I couldn't be happier to have made the decison, no regrets. All went extremely well. I wish I knew about this forum before. My greatest pain has been gas, apart from that all has gone extremely well. I'm back to work and back to the pool light exercising after 2 and half weeks. GOOD LUCK! you will be fine  Let us know how you go. Read about me in introductions CHEERS
