Thank you all soo much! I am feeling fabulous really!! It has been a much better experience than I expected! I feel almost normal now besides being sore at the incisions and the gas etc.. I've already been able to get in at least 40 oz of fluids and yesterday got my 60grams of protien in!! The 2nd day was the worse since the liquid loratab made me sick, but that quickly subsided! I went to work for 6hrs on Friday and that was a bit long. I was definately tired when I went home and took a 2 hr nap and then was fine. The nurses at the hospital kept joking with me saying...are you sure they actually did surgery on you? I was up and walking around etc. I am just sooo excited about the rest of my journey!! Praise God and all his Glory for this new life! :-)

I'm soo excited tomorrrow is the big day!!! I can't believe it's already here! I'm the first one on the schedule tomorrow so I have to be there at 5:30 am!!! Uffdah! Hope the surgeon and techs have had their wheaties and coffee! I can't wait for this to be done and over and on the road to the new me!! :-)

I just started mine yesterday and it wasn't too bad actually. Today's a little rocky but I just keep telling myself it's not forever and it's sooo worth it in the long run! Keep your chin up! It will be ok! :-)

I just got the phone call from my surgeon's insurance office saying that I came back as approved!! I'm soo excited I can hardly stand it! Just waiting for a call to schedule a date! Might be as soon as the last week of this month! Wow!! :-)

I had to have an EGD done as well for GERD and they found some inflammation and a hiatal hernia as well. They also took a biopsie. My results ended up being ok. The surgeon said that when he goes in to do the weight loss surgery he'll get a better idea of how bid the hernia is and if looks like it should be fixed he'll just do it at the same time since he's already in there. He did put me on Prilosec because I was taking zantac for years and that was on March 11 and I have not had ANY heartburn or reflux since that! Pretty cool! Don't worry too much! Sounds like pretty normal stuff! Good luck with everything!

Well CONGRATS to you too!! I'm actually scheduled for May 10th, they couldn't get me in this month. So perhaps I could learn from you! lol! Are you nervous at all? I'm just really excited and can't believe it's actually gonna happen! Good luck with everything, we should definately keep each other posted on our progress!

Thanks everyone!! Well, I just got it scheduled for Tuesday, May 10th!! I can't believe I'm actually gonna be able to do this!! Woo Hoo! Oh and I found out that I'd only have to do a 1 week liquid diet instead of 2 weeks, which is a super bonus!

Hello. So I was wondering if anyone else had this happen to them. I was supposed to hear back from Insurance if I was approved or not either last Friday or by today. So far I have heard nothing and I'm really nervous! I'm wondering if this is bad news since it seems to be taking longer than it's "supposed" to. Any thoughts or advice would be greatly appreciated!! :-)

Thank you for your advice and input! I had the insurance department at my surgeon's office do all of my paperwork and communication so far with my insurance company. Do you think I should call them or my insurance company directly? I wasn't really sure who was actually going to contact me. I thought it was the surgeons office, but I don't really know! I emailed the insurance department this morning and haven't gotten a response yet from them. I hate the waiting game!! But I know good things come to those who wait!! Thanks again!

My procedure book says that the soft foods is from 4-7 weeks. So I guess I'll have to wait and see how I'm handling food at that time. I have a 2yr old daughter and I figure if I can eat regular foods, I can probably just share with her! I'll have to remeber to pack snacks, good idea! Thanks you guys!

Hi! I am currently waiting to schedule my surgery date, looks like either the end of this month or begining of next. But I will be going on vacation to Disneyworld the end of June with my husband's entire family. :-) We've rented a house and plan on making most of our meals there instead of eating out to save us all money. I should be about 7 or 8 weeks post opt by that time and am wondering what kind of things I will be able to eat then. Will I have to buy my own groceries or can I eat "normal" food? Any advice would be great! Thanks!
