I was banded on 2/12/07, have 8 cc and finally have some restriction. It has taken a long time to get to this point. The weight loss has been slow, but at least it's coming off. I'm down about 46 pounds since the surgery.
I turned 60 a couple of months after being banded in Feb of this year. It will be nice to have some others in this decade to share experiences with. In 6 months I have lost 40 pounds. Not bad, but a bit slower than I'd like. I am also doing Curves 3-4 days a week and swimming when I get invited to the neighbor's pool. Want to lose another 55 pounds so it will be a while before I get there. Other than a few "golf balls" I haven't had any of the other problems I've read about. I'd do this again in a heartbeat.
I was banded on 2/12 and am feeling great. Down 14 pounds and eating "normal" food. Won't be getting a fill until 4/3 and noticing that I'm able to eat more. It's tough keeping those portions small, but I'm seeing progress. Hang in there gang, we're going to do this!

I taught life science and biology in NY State for 32 years. Following that, my hubby, the dog, Hercules,(an 8 pound Yorkie), and Xena, the cat moved to central Florida. Been here almost 5 years and loving it.
I was just banded on 2/12/07 and 2 months from turning 60. No, you are not too old. I'm looking forward to being a "better me" for whatever years I do have left. May as well go out in style!
Back from the overnight stay required by insurance. Was banded yesterday by Dr. Jawad in Ocala, FL. Felt great yesterday, but soreness has set in today. Still not too bad -- have only taken pain med twice. No problems from gas so far.
Looking forward to full liquids tomorrow.
Hope all has gone well for the other February bandsters.
It's so nice to see so many other "mature" bandsters to relate to. I'm getting banded in a few weeks. Just trying to imagine what I could look like a year from now. It seems like I've been so overweight for so long that I can't even imagine what the future will be like. I'm looking forward to a more active life. Without belly and boobs in the way I figure my golf score can only get better!

I'd definitely vote for a qualified woman. Hillary -- no way. I suppose she could make Bill her running mate and he could be president in charge of vice.
I'm going to be banded by Dr. Jawad in Ocala on Feb. 12.
Looking forward to hearing how everyone does.
Sure is nice having others going through this at the same time.
Just wanted to say hello to everyone and tell you how much help this forum has been. I've been lurking around for a long time reading everything I can about the lapband. Have been researching it for about 2 years. The actual journey, starting with a seminar in Aug. '06, and will be realized on Feb. 12th. I'm very lucky that my insurance will cover surgery or I probably wouldn't be able to afford it. Retired teachers usually aren't rolling in money.
I'll try not to bore you with too many details. Been overweight, and undertall, most of my life. Would like to loose about half a person.
For 32 years I taught in NY State then retired to FL with DH, the dog and cat. Absolutely the right choice -- love central Florida.
Looking forward to chatting with y'all (new language for me).
Guess I'd better get in touch with the Feb. bandsters.
