To fill or not to fill

In my doc's opinion , you have to do a fillwhen you go back to eat as much as you were before. Everybody is different , I had my first fill 2 months after my surgery and I did fine. Talk to your doc... and see . To be honest , by what you are saying , I don't think you NEED a fill now.
  4. Hi Sue My name is Juliana and I did have the surgery in Quebec. I did at the Spa diva medical center. They are amazing there. Dr Miller is very honest and all the staff super helpfull It cost 16 k. But 100% worth it. I had mine in october and 47lbs gone. Good luck Keep me posted.

    What is your goal weight?

I had my surgery in October and lost quite a bit since... I am thrilled. So I set my goal at 145. When I went for my fill last week , my doc said that was unrealistic and my goal in relation to my 5,6ft should be between 180 to 170. And after being 267.... 180 is sounding pretty good! What you should keep in mind is your BMI... and a BMI of 30 or lower is the ideal.

    STRUGGLING & DISAPPOINTED

I am so sorry to hear things are not going well. But hang in there , it will get better. I also got banded last October and so far going well , but I take it day by day. Make sure you are having enough calories , I would say around 1000 a day and drink plenty of water.I started dropping the pounds when I started drinking water. If that still does not work... talk to your doc. Good luck and keep up!
  9. I think you should bring this up to your Doc. My pre op was 1 cup of veggies daily + 4 proteine shakes. In order to shrink my liver. I had a friend who did not follow the pre op , went for her surgery once the Doc was " in" he had to close her up an re schedule the surgery date because her liver was way too big and he did not have room to move around. It is rare that it happens , but I do think your doc should know about your meals before you go in. Good luck , I am sure it will all work out

Banded 1/21 and need some help...

Hi First of all.. hang in there. Your surgery is too recent and you still need to get used to it. In my opnion , mind you , I am no doc.You started with solids way too soon. I think it took me a good 2 weeks to have blanded food ( like baby food) Try taking a few steps back , second , make sure that you are drinking enough Water , try aiming for 1 lt a day. It will help with your hunger And if you really really want to eat... go for something with Protein, cheese , egg , meats ( if you can ) , yogurt , milk and even oatmeal . That should keep you full longer. My doc told me I had to have 3 meals a day only... Forget it.. I can't I am still hungry in between meals and I still snack. But I try to go for healthier choices. I had my band done in October and so far 40lbs gone. You will get there.. you just have to get used to the tool.

    What's with all the burping?

Right after my surgery I had a lot of gas , and my doctor explained to me that it was because in order to make some room during the surgery they blow you up with air. So now... the air is coming out. It is not a pretty image ... but it helps you understand.
