Is Anybody From Mississippi? I Need A Support Buddy!!
Lcuy replied to amclapp's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I was nervous and excited all at the same time. For me it was very easy. I had surgery at 7:30aam and back in my room by 9:30am. Then the walking started and I was home by 10:30 am the next day. I loved my surgeon and she was really good with info of what to expect. I have had no problems since. I have had about 5 fills since March and beleive the last one in Sept has been thoe tightest I have ever been. I go this week but will pass on the fill til next appt. Best of luck and stay in touch. -

Tricare - Additional Documentation Required
Lcuy replied to twinskins's topic in Insurance & Financing
Hi Twinskin, I have TriCare North. I had to do the same. I also had to to some other weigh in as my height was different at 3 different appt. hang in and it will happen. It took me 9 months from start to finish. I am now 6 months out and still have no regrets. I would do it all over again . So hang in a little longer and stay on top of it. Good luck. -
Hi, I am almost 4 months out. Down 25 pds. I to was a smoker and after I went to the. Rife and knew that if I didn't quit my surgeon wouldn't do the surgery I went to my primary Dr and started on Chatix. I had to take smaller dose than required but did it. I also bought an E-Cig and haven't smoked in over a year. It is hard but put your goal first. This is the only thing I was willing to give up smoking for. I also had to give up Diet Coke. Good luck! You will make it!

I am doing great. Down 26pds ans have 20 more to go. I had 3 cormobidities and for my height and BMI my insurance approved me. I am as of next Wednesday off all meds. So it has been soooo worth everything. I just had my first fill 2 weeks ago and not sure it has restriction as much as I thought but I am stable on weight and not gaining. How are you doing?

Hi, is anyone current on here. I also have Dr.C. Trahan. I am waiting for my approvel. Just would like to have support for a newbie in the area. Lucy -
Yes, I have talked to all of them and thier response is that it isn't on the records yet ( or something to that effect). They told me to keep checking and If I didn't hear anything in the next 2 months to contact them and keep checking. It will happen but they are still going to use the Metropolitain Life Tables until this instruction is added. Hang in there and keep them busy by calling and asking all the question. Good Luck to you also!

Have talked to everyone I can think of to call with Tricare and Helthnet and it is still not implemented. They are hoping in the next couple of months. I have been denied under the old plan but fit into the new rules. Wish they would hurry .

Hi, I am in process of trying to get my BMI to 35. I have type 2 diabeties,HC,HBP. I am having to gain 10pds to reach 35bmi even though Tricare isn''t requiring it? The surgeon is the one requiring the BMI 35. Has anyone had to gain to get approval? I am Tricare Standard retired living in VA.

Hi, I am new at this? I am having to wait to see if i can get my BMI which is now 34.5 to 35 as I have 3 comorbidities. I have checked with my ins which is TRI Care Standard and should have no problems if my BMI is 35. Has anyone had to wait to increase or how to increase your BMI.
