  1. I am 5'4" wt 240. I wear 18/20 pants and xl-1x tops. Most of my weight is in the middle (tummy, fanny) so you might realize you can fit into smaller sizes than you think! Good Luck! I am looking forward to hitting the 200 mark.
  2. Although I love my band, I would choose the sleeve if I had to do it again.
  3. The best person to have answered this question would have been the prescribing physician. Maybe call your local emergency room physician to see if they can give you some direction.

    TOM weight gain...

I usually gain 2-3lbs and it goes away.

    Filled with regret....

Were you not educated on that information before the surgery? I had 6 months of visits with a dietician to learn the do's and dont's and dietary changes of having gastric banding surgery. But the biggest thing I have learned since having the surgery is that most foods are trial and error. I fortunately have no problems with meats, veggies, rice etc. I however cannot drink during my meal just because there just simply isnt room for liquids at that time. Over time you will realize what you can and cannot eat and I think you will find it isnt as bad as it may seem. Try to get 64 oz minimum of fluids daily. If you still continue to have problems with dehydration after that amout if fluid you should see your primary care phys to made sure there is not another issue that needs addressing. Good luck to you! The changes you'll find really are not so bad. And once the weight starts coming off it'll all be worth it!!
  6. I had a couple bites of cottage cheese about 12 days post-op. It tasted SO good!

    Onderland!!!!!!!!! 199.8!!!!!!!

    Congrats!! 
  8. I also was told that if I am losing I do not need a fill. However my Dr leaves the decision up to me whether or not I have one in that case. At my second fill I chose to have one for the same reasons you want one...for the hunger....so she just put a small amount 0.8cc and it helped. Good luck to you! I hope you are able to get a fill.

    I burp too much.

Ya the burping. Long deep ones. lol. It is a bit embarassing at times. 
  10. Oh I hear ya! I get tired of that question to. Especially when its the same people asking over and over. And I almost feel guilty if I dont have a large number to report. I was banded Oct 29 and have lost 55 lbs but I feel like people think I should be 100 lbs down already. I just dont think they get it. 

    When did you get start....?

I was 'liquids' for two weeks but that included protein shakes and creamed, strained soups. Then I went to softs (puddings, cottage cheese, scrambled eggs etc.) for 7-10 days and if I was tolerating that I could move onto solids.

    FOOD JOURNALS

I also use My Fitness Pal app. I am glad I started using a food journal. It was a reality check to see how much calories there actually are in foods i used to think were somewhat healthy. I really like the fact eveything is counted for you with the application. It makes it easy to keep on track.
  14. I am able to eat salad without any difficulty however I do know people who have had problems. I would try it. You may find you'll have a new food option. 

    So miserable. Please help!

My Dr recommended Miralex also. I take it when I need it, not on a regular basis. It works well usually in 24-36 hours
  16. I believe the nut would know best as far as protien intake. I was told 60g/day. My 2 week post op diet consisted of broth, jello, protein shakes and tomato soup. I even received two 4 oz protien shakes in the hospital the day of my surgery. I didnt drink one of them but it was avail to me. Protein intake is so important!

    Catheter?

I did not have one. But I wish I did because I was incontinent on the table. Lol. Kinda embarassing...
  18. 6 weeks post op is still pretty recent. Your body may still be adjusting to the surgery/band. Exercise is a large factor in losing weight. I had my surgery Oct 29 and am down 30 pounds since surgery, 40 altogether and I started exercising on a regular basis one week after surgery. Eat right, exercise and keep up the good work and the weight will start coming off. Good Luck!
