Jenmomto3 - The band was the best choice I made! It has saved my life! I am down 75 lbs after being banded in Feb-11 and hope to reach a 100 lbs which will put me close to my goal at the 1 year mark! K

VUCARRE, Have you had a barium swallow? Get them to more tests! The Barium swallow will show if you band is working. They also can go in with a camera. Don't give up! My BFF was banded 8 years ago and she is have less restriction now. You have to play around with your fills and work out. Do you exercise? Stay positive! Cheers, Kristi

I am fine with short flights but I just a 9 hour flight to europe and now I keep getting stuck. I can only eat cheese and yoguart & Oh Yeah bars. It sucks as I planned to try lots of new foods. It is also taking me 45 mins to eat a meal. Get in the way of my wine tasting . Hopefully I am losing a wack of weight! Good luck all! Cheers, Kristi

Thanks all as you info has helped just as I thought. My BFF is banded and had a fill yesterday and has bad swelling and slimming. she got sick 3 times last night. We are traveling to Europe tomorrow so we are trying to get her in for a unfill. Since we are in Canada that isn't that easy as we don't have fill clinics like in the US. Tomorrow we are flying to Europe. I will have her stick to hot liquids. Any other tips would be greatly appeciated. Have a great weekend all! Cheers, Kristi

Michelle37 that is common. Everyone is different. I get a bit more restriction after flying but not much at all. My friend is the opposite she can't eat while flying or after flying. I travel every where with a fill needle in case the dr or clinic doesn't have the right needle for an unfill. I am flying tomorrow for 9 hours. That will be the longest flight for me. Had a fill today .25 to put my band at 6.25 CC's. The Dr is very happy with my progress! Now I am concidered over weight not obese

I have brown Beans & chillli. Most of the time no problem as I love them! Occasssionally when I am tight around 5CC's no go. This last weekend a friend made chilli with kidney beans & lots of onion. No go either. I just keep trying as everyday is different. Hope all is well! K

Putting whey protein in a blender?

I have pudding every night with Whey protein that I mix in the blender. My big treat! -
I had the same challenge. I was 5 CC's and could eat beans veggie burgers... Got a fill to 6 CC's and could barely eat chicken... I had to go back to puree. 5 CC's is my sweet spot and 6 CC's I couldn't eat enough to lose weight! Good luck!
