  1. Hi! After 10 months of evaluations, test after test, dietician appointments, more dieting, and surgery/pre-op appointments, I am scheduled for surgery in 2 days! I've lost 30 lbs pre-surgery. I also had a unique opportunity: my youngest daughter had the band placed 2 1/2 weeks ago. I had the chanc to help her in recovery, and learn from her process. After watching her I ordered some pre-made WLS food items, requested anti-nausea meds before I leave the hospital, and am prepared to spend a couple days in a nightgown since pulling up her pants was beyond challenging! So here I am, 2 days away. I am excited and VERY nervous. I am worried about the post-op nausea/vomiting from anesthesia, and nausea in general (when I am nausea my body chooses to vomit, and my surgeon said avoiding vomiting.) I also watched her struggle in trying to get in enough Protein the first couple days. I'd love any tips from the experts for any of these issues. ONE LAST QUESTION: how do you put in those weight loss tickers? Thanks! Donna

    September Bandsters

I am getting banded September 13, 2011. I'm a bit nervous, mostly about nausea because for me nausea always leads to vomiting. I will be sure to request an anti-nausea patch and some meds before I leave the hospital. (I thought I posted this response, but I am brand new to posting and it may have gone into forum never never land!) Donna

    September Bandsters

HI. Im not sure but this may be my first post. After 10 months of seminar, evaluaions, dr and dietician visits, psych exams, and extensive testing, I am scheduled for my surgery in 2 days: September 13, 2011. My youngest daughter had the surgery approximately 2 1/2 weeks ago, so I had a unique opportunity to watch and learn from a band patient. I am truly excited. I had a very unusual insurance experience, but the bottom line is that I was approved for the surgery after my first request. Good luck to everyone! I tried to put in a ticker but frankly I'm not sure it worked. If not, well, guess I will have to figure out how to fix it! Peace to you. Getting super anxious...

Hello there! My last 6-month supervised program appointment is the end of the month. I've completed all testing, including my psych eval today which he said I passed with flying colors. I have a pre-authorization phone appointment next Friday. I'm not sure the authorization process will take, but everything has moved so fast thus far. I am not nervous, but like you I want a date and to get started. Its funny - I thought the psych eval was going to be cheesy, but when I left I thought it was one of the most profound parts of the process thus far. It feels kind of surreal. I pray for your approval!! Good luck.
