march sleevers the good and the bad

Sleevie did not like pureed tuna. It came right back up. At least sleeve vomit isn't nasty like regular vomit. Back to cottage cheese and soup. -
Talk to your surgeon about her treatment of you. You're not obligated to stay with them if you're being treated poorly.
-
Response, OMG, yay surgery!!!! Thank you! You can take it negatively and dwell on it or turn it positive and move on. Eventually, you're going to have to talk to her about her attitude.

Do you have to deal with this person? She sounds like a wanker.

Better call Larry h. Parker, he'll get you 2 million.

march sleevers the good and the bad

Ive been expecting the same thing. My litmus test is 6 months from now, stalls won't matter in the long run. I still want that guac!!! -
Yesh, a 25% removal rate is pretty bad and the literature would have a 40% EWL as a failure as well. I don't think it is a good option for us big people. If they don't take it off the market, I wouldn't be surprised if they make official for only low BMIs. Most surgeons are steering people away from it. I totally agree with you. I was mostly trying to add to your post.

SELECTIVE SURGERY DURING SLEEVE SURGURY
missmeow replied to aaayoungs's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Its about 30% of people will need it out with massive weight loss. This drops to 2-3% if you take actigall/urisidol post-op. Mine is still with me and I take my pills crossing my fingers I am not one of those 2-3%. -
I think the band is really only a good solution for low BMI people (30-35) who can use it more as a speed bump for their eating and develop better habits. The weight loss from it is about 40% EWL in some studies which would bring people in that range into a healthy body weight. At higher weights, my opinion is that there are physiological changes to the body and the hunger/satiation feedback loupe that cause or contribute to obesity that the band cannot address and that is why the "failure" rate is so much higher in high BMI folks (> 35).

Calling All March 18 Sleevers
missmeow replied to Melinda1's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Doing good so far. Started the pre-op at 233 (gained 10 food funeraling but I am good with that). Was down to 217.8 day before surgey. Was 206 on friday for my post-op follow-up). My size 18s are getting loose. I'm starting soft foods tomorrow. I think I am going to count April as my start time because eating food is when the real fun. Are we able to eat honey? I don't usually sweeten tea but I have a lavender tea that is pretty strong and maybe one tsp would do it. I don't like sweets but I want to avoid all the fake sugar since I'm getting so much of it in the protein shakes. -
Undetected pregnancy during gastric sleeve surgery.

Seems strange they didn't do a pregnancy test. I have my doubts there, maybe her dates are off? -

Gateway to HELL -
Because the point of the surgery is to reset your thinking and eating in balance--not on some strict sick person's diet for life. At 3 weeks out, I would follow my doc's instructions. Your body is still healing and adjusting to the changes. Dumping sugar into your system will probably not go well.

3/18 was my date.

Peoples reactions to weight loss surgery
missmeow replied to michelle4873's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My feeling about coworkers is that they are just that--coworkers. Unless you're going to church with them, having them over for dinner, or going on vacation with you, they are not your friends, so if you want to keep it your own business don't tell them anything. People will be supportive until they feel threatened, especially in the work unit. As far as it being the easy way out, why the hell not? The "hard way" hasn't worked, hasn't gotten you anywhere, so why keep doing it. I don't drive my car with square tires either. -
All I remember about waking up was groaning "pain" and saying it one more time before being sent to lalaland. When I was really awake, I remember being wheeled to my room and getting settled. It wasn't too bad. I asked if i could put on some underwear, which I guess was really funny to my parents. Apparently I was high as a kite. I, however, remember being perfectly rational In other words, don't worry about it. You'll be pretty out of it.

Any March Sleevers?
missmeow replied to futuresleever's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My vitamins make me sick. I'm going to try taking them one at a time during the day but OMG I had to lay down. Maybe they are going to fast through my sleeve? My protein shakes give me the worst gas too. Everything goes down fine, no barfing but jeeze I can't go back to work farting like a monster -
I had a two week liquid diet. I have not bothered to weigh because I know I will be the same or only slightly less because right now is the time my body would normally stall. You're probably not eating much and your body is in freak out mode. Focus on your monthly weigh-in and you'll feel much better. I was done on 3/18 too and this is how I'm approaching my journey. I didn't do this to myself to be on a weight loss race or diet. If I do the right things I will lose weight when my body is ready to let it go. Now if I could only poop.

Any March Sleevers?
missmeow replied to futuresleever's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'm still taking my aceto+codeine at night because that is when I feel my most soreness. It also helps with the back pain I get sleeping on my back as I am usually a side sleeper. Good sleep is a priority for me as it helps with healing and the keeps you mentally healthy. I am going to ask about liquid Tylenol at the first check up next week. Liquids are going down pretty easy, no hunger, no nausea. I feel I am pretty lucky.
