    Long term prognosis

I haven't read the whole thread but I would read these studies for information but not let it get you down. I am going to be mean here but there is going to be a percentage of people who are going to fail, either because they really did not understand what they got themselves into, or have a compulsion to eat constantly that is more psychological than physical, etc. I think if you weigh and measure you foods and have a reality based concept of what you are eating, then you will have developed habits that should keep you from regaining to obesity. Exercise is also key and I wonder how many of the failures are not moving at all. Just moderate exercise helps.

    week 3-nausea

My docs said the biggest cause of post-op nausea past the pumped full of drugs phase is eating or drinking too fast or too much. Try slowing down a bit and see if it helps.
  3. You're eating too big of bites and/or eating too fast. Eat half a bite instead of a full bite and wait a few minutes before the next one. You might be more swollen than others and have to go slower. When I was in mushies/soft foods, a half a cup of cottage cheese took 20-30 minutes to eat and I chewed it. ETA: I generally did not finish the full 1/2 c of cottage cheese until maybe week 4. I had two weeks of full liquids and 2 weeks of mushies and then I could eat everything. I stuck with the mushie/soft stuff until about week 6. By week 10 everything gelled and I had faster movement through the sleeve and better capacity. It is a learning curve, just remember slow and small at first for everything, including your liquids.

    Diet Soda

Anything in moderation is what my surgeon said. However, since I have kicked the diet soda habit, I have no desire to go back to it, so I haven't bothered. I have tried a few sips of beer but I prefer to drink things that are going to go down easy and not give me any more gas.

    Post op march sleevers

I'm a slow loser too, but I am consistently losibg 2lbs a week. Pre-op 233, SW 218, CW 184. Surgery date was 3/18. I eat under 800 calories a day. Carbs are usually under 50 carbs sometimes less and ive had a few bad days where its been more. I work out 3-5 days a week my aversge is 4 and I burn 250-350 calories per session or more. I don't know how to boost my loss. I just want to lose a consistent 10 mobth
  7. I'm just trying see speed. My pre-op was 233, Sw 218, Cw 186. I'm lagging behind everyone 10-20lbs. I exercise get less than 800 cals of intake, net is usually under 500 or 600. Still moving slow.
  8. Is that including pre-op diet or all of it lost post-op?

    Post op march sleevers

I am doing what I am supposed to, eating under 800 cals, usually aroubd 650-700, eating 50g carbs, 60-80g protein and ive only lost 30 since surgery. I get depressed seeing people who are down 50lbs or more in the same time period. I know its silly but wtf is with my body hoarding all my fats. I'm exercising too.

    Seeking Buddies 5'2" & Under

I'd be happy if I could get more than a pound or two per week.

    I miss my vodka!

Wait until you get there. If you can get your 60-80g Protein and 64 or more ounces of Fluid at one month out by all means enjoy yourself. Personally, I think you're going to be more interested in moving out of softs and into real food than getting blotted. I'm just passing my second month and many in my cohort (including myself) are still not getting everything in. The thought of alcohol just really does not appeal

    Hubby Doesnt Like Me Now

Why do you accept this kind of behavior? He sounds utterly disgusting to me.

I'm down 22lbs at the 8 week mark or 37lbs at the 10 week mark if you count my 2 week pre-op. Some may say that is slow but I feel I am doing really good and losing at a rate that I am happy with.

  18. Yeah, keeping a level of personal privacy is not an indication of shame, embarrassment, or lack of truthfulness.
  19. Yes, the inputs are for your starting activity. The right hand side allows you to adjust upward based on a percentage. So if I start as inactive on the left side, what constitutes a 100% increase in activity?
  20. How do you estimate the change in activity level? It is set at percentages, so it's hard to quantify?
  21. Plus sizes generally have a 30lb or so spread. So you can get away with a not so perfect fit. Also shop sales and buy basics that can be mix and matched. There is a giveaway section here too.

    dumping syndrome

The closest I got was during the liquid to soft food phase (I was a chicken for progressing). I had the liquid from chicken coconut Soup and was fine with the portion I ate but then drank sone Water to wash the flavor out and it must have pushed it through sleevie too fast or it was too early aftet surgery to eat because I got really clammy, nauseated and then pooped. Not runny but still. Since then, I took it slow and have not had any issues. I had a brownie bite about 1" x1" with no problems so it can just b e a time issue.

    My biggest fear!

The stomach ulcer surgery is closer to the RNY but without the intestinal bypass. Apparently ulcer tend to happen closer to th pylorus. You can look up billroth I and ii
