I have been getting sick every now and then through out my journey but lately i have been getting sick more often and it is usually this really thick like spit that is so gross. I usually never throw up the food i have eaten just this slimmy stuff. Has anyone else had this happen to them.

I have not had any pbs yet. I am very grateful. I am having problems eating too much. I dont eat to much at one time but I feel like I am eating all day. I guess my point is hang in there. I think that a lot of us feel like failures some days and I think that is really only human. I know I do anyway so if it is not normal than call me weird. I hope you get those pbs worked out and to get your fill in 2 weeks. I know I cant wait to get my first so I can just about imagine how bummed you were. Good luck and keep us posted.

Day 6 and massive, scary weight loss 32lbs!
cjschultz replied to Tom328's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I also lost weight at a rate of about two pounds a day. My weight loss stopped when I started on thicker foods. I would not be too worried it is mainly the liquid diet. -

I will not be able to get my first fill until April 12. I already made the appt but I am really scared about it. I am really excited about the nice weather we are finally getting here in Michigan. It makes me really want to get out and go for a nice long walk. -

Hey I am from Michigan. I live in the Grand Rapids area. I was banded on Feb. 19, 2007. -
I went to my first post op appt. yesterday and my doctor said to come in at 6 weeks to get a fill and then every two weeks after that. I have read on some of the threads that you sometimes can not feel the full effect of your fill for up to 2 weeks. So I guess I am asking is every two weeks to much.

Thanks so much for all you replies. I love this website you can find so much info and if you cant find it you can always ask. I am looking forward to my first fill. I feel more and more hungry as the days go by and I am really looking forward to my first fill. Thanks again.

I was banded on the 19th. I go for my first post op vistit on the 8th of March and I can not wait. I am hoping that my doctor will move me to the mushies stage. I am hating the full liquid stage.

It is so weird how the plans are so different. I went to a seminar on Dec. 28, 2006 and was banded on Feb. 19, 2007. My whole process only took a little less than 2 months. The most I will pay is $2250. Good luck to all still in the process!

EGADS WHEN can i SHOWER?
cjschultz replied to lizrbit's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
How long before the strips are supposed to fall off? I am two weeks post op and not all of them have came off yet. Should I still just wait for them to fall off on there own? -
Mary did you also use Dr. Schram and the Barix Clinics for your surgery? And if you did how long ago? I was just banded and I am looking forward to my first appt with him.
-
Just wanted to let you know that I went throught with my surgery and it all went fine. Dr. Schram was wonderful and my husband and I both really like him. The Barix Clinic was wonderful. It is nice because everyone is there for the same reason. The staff was very nice. If you want any info on anything just let me know I am interest in hearing how everything is going for you.

I was wondering about that also. I was made to cough in the hospital so it can not be all that bad for you. It just hurt real bad but that has even passed for me. I only have some burning in the port area every now and then when I have did to much.

Drinking Too Much Post Op?
cjschultz replied to MCOBandita's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I had surgery a week ago tomorrow and I am just getting to the point where I can get all of the 64 oz. of fluid down that I need daily. I have not been able to drink all of my protien and the liquids in a day that have been recommended for me. Is this a common problem? -
I am having my surgery on Monday and I can not help but have second thoughts about it. I almost feel like maybe I did not try hard enough to lose it on my own. I don't know if it is just nerves from having to go through the surgery or maybe that is how I really feel. I am only 25 years old but I weight 300 lbs. I really need to do something about my wieght but I cant help but wonder maybe one more try the old fashioned way. I look at all the pictures and read all of your stories and it gets me really excited but then later when I am alone my mind starts to race. My family is really supportive so I am very lucky but I still feel unsure. I just dont want to make a mistake. Any words of wisdom would help me

I went through with the surgery and I feel really good. I am almost a week out and only have a little burning in the port area. My surgery went very well and so far I do not regret it one bit. Thank you all for your support.

ousooner Thanks for your post. Congrats on your loss. That is great only one pound to go. I am going to have is done. I really want to be there for my children. My son is already eating the wrong foods so I am think after I have my surgery we can all eat much healthier. I am excited to be able to play with my children on a physical level. I know that this is the right decision. I am lucky enough to do it while I am young and healthy ( other than my weight ). I hope that I have a success story to tell someone in my position someday. Thank you all for your posts they have helped a lot.

Thank you all so much for your words of wisdom. I know that this will probably be the only way that I lose the weight I just am a little nervous about the surgery part. I think that is what is fueling my thoughts. My husband has pretty much said the same things as you all but it is really good to hear from others too. I am just going to try and ignore my fear of this and move forward. Thank you all again this is the best website and you all have answer so many of my questions. It is just great to read all about your stories.

I went to my first lap band seminar on Dec. 29th 2006. I am waiting for insurance approval. I am very excited after looking at some of the before and after pics and I am also a little scared. I dont like the thought of surgery but I have went through a lot harder things in life. I think that I am going to go through with it and I will probably wonder why I ever doubted it.
-
I also went to the same seminar in Holland on Dec. 29th. I am very wxcited about the possibility but also thinking that I may be rushing it. I feel a little weird about going to the first doctor I find but I have also been doing so reading on him and the Barix clinics and have founds a lot of good stories.
