my feelings are hurt from the forum
CincyUdy replied to oceangirl6's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I though tthe same thing on a few things I have posted on this site. How can you have hundreds of people read your post and not get one reply is what I kept thinking. Then I move one and just read alot. I was banded 3 days ago and I am back to work today. I have been very tired and sore, but for the most part each day I feel better and better. I have a couple people that I write back and forth to on here that have been banded on the same day or right before me and we support each other in that area. I am happy to be that friend to you as well? Friend me and send me a message if you would like to kick Fat's ass together! I wish you nothing but success!! -
Thanks for the advice everyone, especially honk. I just went to lunch with some girlfriends and had some tomato basil soup (which was yummy) and then went to the drugstore and got my chewable vitamins! I did have a couple swigs of coffee at lunch so I hope that gets me through the afternoon. I already and feeling better. Maybe I just needed a vitamin and to eat lunch. Either way thanks for the info!!!

No, shoot, I forgot to get some vitamins. I will get some today. I need something. I am about the break down and have some coffee. Does anyone know why they would say no caffiene?

OMG SURGERY SCHEDULED FOR TOMORROW - NEED SOME ENCOURAGEMENT..GETTING COLD FEET
CincyUdy replied to yannabee's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I just had my surgery this morning! I was on a 2 week liquid diet and I stuck to it mostly. It was my husbands birthday during that time so I emailed my dietitian and asked her if I could go out to dinner with him and eat real food. She told me that if I ate grilled chicken and steamed vegies it wouldn't be the end of the world. Don't worry at least you cheated with good choices .... you will be fine! You will do great!! GOOD LUCK!!!!! -
Well it is 1:45pm and I am feeling better. Everything went great this morning. Got to the docs at 7:30 this morning and right on schedule I was wheeled back to the O.R. at 9am. They woke me up about 30 min later and I was in recovery. They told me while they were in there they had to repair a small hernia. So the gas in the belly created a lot of my pain while there. I was up and walking around in about 40 minutes. The walking helped. I was in the car on my way home by 11am!!! It was so fast, they have it down to a science! I got the Lap Band! I still can't believe it! I am not really in pain just uncomfortable. The gas pain went to my lower back and not my shoulder so not sure that is a good thing or bad thing. Liquids only today, then I can start puree foods tomorrow.

My surgery is tomorrow my ? is....
CincyUdy replied to KatieRichardson's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My surgery is tomorrow morning as well and I am very excited! I am to arrive at 7:30am for a 9am surgery. They said I should be on my way home by about 10:30am. Total time being there about 3 hours!! As long as everything stays on schedule that is. It really depends on your doctor. Also are you having yours done at a hospital or surgery center? I am having mine done at a surgery center. My doctor considers lap band patients an out patient procedure. It really is all about what your doctor does and as you read on this site all doctors are different in what they do and require! Good luck tomorrow!! -
Me too! Have to be there at 7:30 in the morning for a 9am surgery! I have been on my pre op diet and lost 12 lbs in the last 2 weeks so it is a nice start. Good luck to you tomorrow!!

Second Day of Pre-op Diet
CincyUdy replied to RickLB's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I am on day 10 of my 14 day pre op diet and I know exactly what you are feeling right now. My big day is on Monday. I will tell you that after day 3 or so you will feel more normal. I was dizzy, crabby, and wanting to kill someone for some food till about that time so it does get better. I am down 11 lbs since last monday so not bad considering the sacrifice. Keep it up, it is all worth it!!!! -
I Stopped Smoking for My LB Surgery
CincyUdy replied to ginafur's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I quit smoking almost 2 years ago with Chantix. I truly call it the smokers miracle drug! Anyway, my surgeon will not touch a patient who is smoking. There are a lot of complications that could arise with a smoker and anethesia. Smoking is a choice at this point in my life. I chose every day not to be a smoker. Congrats on quitting smoking and on getting the Lap Band!!! -
I was given 2 weeks worth of MediFast food. That is basically 4 different Soups (which are mostly broths), powdered eggs, blueberry pancake(worst thing I have ever had), strawberry smoothie, hot chocolate, vanilla shake, and chocolate shake, and Protein Bars. Out of those options I am to chose 5-6 things a day to eat and that is it!
-
On day 7 of my pre op diet and I am seriously starving! I want to eat something other than the soup and powdered eggs and sugar free jello prescribed to me!!! I have 7 more days of this to go... surgery is on the 28th. How can I last 7 more days of this.. already lost 8 lbs since Monday! Any tips would be great!!!!

Preop Diet, Not sure if this is right
CincyUdy replied to KatieRichardson's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hey congrats!! I am also having surgery on the 28th. I am in to week 2 of my pre op diet and I lost 8lbs last week. It is basically a liquid diet. My doctor told me the point behind the diet is to basically thin out your liver. Get all the sugar and fat out of your liver so it is like a smooth pancake will make surgery and recovery a lot easier. Since they go in laproscopic they have to lift the liver to get to the stomach and since we are all overweight I am sure most of our livers are nice and fatty, hence the purpose of the pre op diet. Can you call the doctor and ask to speak to them directly? I would not leave my life in the hands of some duche behind the counter! That being said there are also a lot of people on here that never did a pre op diet and everything turned out just fine. Good luck!!! -
My surgeon has performed over 4000 lap band surgeries and is considered one of the best in the country. You can gauge yours maybe on this info...

February 2011 Bandsters?
CincyUdy replied to justplaintired's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Well my Pre-op diet starts tomorrow and consists of MediFast brand foods. Shakes, soups, and not much else. Very low cal and unsatisfying. I am going to be on the for 2 weeks and surgery is scheduled for the 28th! I am so excited but really scared at the same time. It is such a life change that I am freaking out a little but I am so excited to get healthy and be comfortable in my own skin. -

February 2011 Bandsters?
CincyUdy replied to justplaintired's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hey girl! I am 33 and have a 9 month old son. I am 274 lbs and hope to get to 150lbs. I have my final supervised diet on Feb 3rd and then I will get my surgery scheduled. I hope to get it in before the end of February! I would love to buddy up and kick Fat's ass together! LOL -
Medically Supervised Diet Pre-Bandsters...
CincyUdy replied to Mewizza's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Mine went very fast. During the diet I have met with a nutitionist who has taught me how I should be eating after surgery, so all in all I am ahead of the game. I go for my 6th supervised diet on Feb 3rd and I am so excited to start my 2 week pre op diet and get my surgury date!! One thing I found hard during the 6 week diet is I wanted to get going and lose weight. Well there is a fine line on the diet to not lose too much weight (cause you might get denied, or lose to little and get denied) So I started my supervised diet at 286 and I am at 274 with very little trying. Just watching my carbs. Heck I even lost 1 lb over the holidays! So I am so ready to get this party started and really get down to losing some real weight. I must say the supervised diet did go rather quick for me. I hope to be banded at the end of February!
