Major Hairloss..Any suggestions?
jrobinson replied to sweet_thang0792's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I too experienced major hair loss. I was instructed to add protein and zinc to my diet. So I purchased a product called Beneprotein (you can buy it from the internet if you can't find it at your pharmacy) and I take a zinc tablet everyday. The hair loss has stopped and is slowly coming back. Give it a try. The nutrionist said due to the problems eating meat, we don't get the proper protein. Good luck. -
Hi, I was banded in Dec. 2006 and get my fills every 6 weeks. The first time they gave me a shot to deaden the skin so I didn't feel the stick from the fill. I actually think that shot hurt worse. Ha!! I don't mind the stick at all. It's so quick. The doctor locates the port, then has me sort of do a sit-up and he sticks the needle in and fills the tubing. It truly is not bad at all and it's worth it.

Hi,I was banded December 27, 2006 in Texarkana, TX. I am doing okay will my fills. Not losing like I would like, but I'm not exercising like I should, so that is slowing me down. My concern is that I'm really losing a lot of my hair. I read pre-op that hair loss was a side-effect of the lap-band. Just wondered if anyone else was experiencing this and what if any suggestions anyone might have. Thanks, Jane

back pain post op
jrobinson replied to halloween2124's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I did have the back pain. The doctor said it was normal. It will go away, but I still sometimes have little cramps in that same area. It's been 7 weeks since my surgery. It takes our bodies longer to heal than we might think. -
I was banded on 12-27-06 in Texarkana. The procedure went well, although the doctor had to do a hernia repair. I came home after the surgery & the next morning had much swelling below my left breast. It was very large & scared me. I called the doctor & he said he would need to see me, so back we went to his office. He said the cavity had filled with blood & fluids & if my body didn't absorb it, he would have to go back in. Today is day 6 & the swelling has gone down some, but I still have swelling there. It is very hard & gives me much discomfort. I did a lot of research before proceeding with the surgery. I never read anything about this condition, so I was wondering if anyone else had anything like this?
