    MARCH 2011 BANDSTERS!

    I think we have all come to a point in the process that we have platueaed... I talked to my nutritionist and we decided that my body had become accustom to what I was eating and doing for exercise.. she told me to change it all up... I did and have began losing not quite as fast as before but Im at my half way point well 6lbs from it but still so it will slow down the closer you get to your goal... just keep pushing and doing your best and you will make it, we will all make it! Keep it up everyone! WE CAN AND WILL DO IT!!!
  2. I am 5'0 and I started at 240 wearing a tight 20, I am now 199 and wearing 16's... I am pretty proportionate i carry my weight evenly so I hope that helps!
  3. I am 10 weeks out and I started at 240lbs and a tight size 20 jeans... I am now 212lbs and in a size 16!!! So today was picture day.. I take a picture once a month on the 5th in an old swim suit that I had when I was thin... Today we took my monthly picture and you could see a huge difference from last month and an even bigger difference from the first picture!! I am in a wedding in the middle of July and I had to buy my dress early... so I had to order a 20 because I wasnt sure if I was going to get to have the surgery at the time I had to buy it... When I brought it home to show my husband, he had a hard time getting it to zip because it was a bit snug... Well I tried it on tonight and well lets just say the only thing holding it up is my butt!! They say they can take it in up to 2 sizes but I think I am already at that mark and the wedding is still over a month away!!! Ahhhahaha! I have had 3 fills and I feel that I am at the sweet spot!! I am so excited about my progress and today just made it that much better!!! I cant wait to see how the rest of this turns out! I have set a new goal as of May 31 to hit 180lbs by August 31... thats about 10 lbs a month.. and that is exactly what I did last month!!! So I am determined to meet my goal!!! I just wanted to share my exciting news with everyone!!!

    Super Stoked!!!

    UPDATE!!!! So I went for my dress fitting and I needed to order a new dress! But its a special order color and all they had were sizes 2, 20,22, and 28... so they had to do what they could to take it in and make it work. It looks much better now! The only bad part is that it would have been cheaper to buy a whole new dress instead I had to fork up $100 in alterations! I am down another 5 lbs to 204 now and I cant wait until I hit 199!! Its been at least 3 years since Ive been in the 100's! All of my clothes are falling off of me or look like I pooped my pants! lol I was bored the other day so I went to the store and tried on some shorts to see if I could fit into 14's yet... well I got them on, zipped, and buttoned!! They weren't pretty but the point is I got them on!! I wouldn't have gotten the over my thighs 3 months ago!!! Thanks for reading!
  5. I am allowed to have motzzellrea (sp)... so I am assuming its going to be your best bet... its the lowest fat cheese... i love cheese to so i can relate! good luck!

    That is awesome! I started at 240 and Im at 209... I cant wait to be under 200 for the first time in 3 years!!! I bet that is one of the greatest feelings ever!!! Keep up the good work!!!

    your band is probably to tight... they tell me all the time if I cant eat meat I need to have some taken out... hope that helps!

    I am 10 weeks out and I hit 30 lbs lost today!!!! Im down 2 workin on 3 pant sizes and 16+ inches!!! I am sooo freaking excited!! May 31 I set a new goal to get to 180 by Aug 31... I started at 213 and already down 3 lbs!! I cant wait to what the other side of 200 looks like again! Its been too long since I've seen that side!!

    Menstrual pains!!

    I have the same issue! I have horrible cramps throughout my periods now, whereas before I might have had light cramping the first day! and I absolutely hate it!!! I dont have the nauseua or tight feeling, I am actually more hungry during my period so I have to make sure I pay attention to what I am eating!

    Hopetolose: That is awesome we are on a very close ride together!! Congrats to you on your loss also!! I am a bit shorter than you I am only 5 foot tall! I am a what I have always called short and squashy! lol There is nothing like the feeling of wearing something you dont normally wear and getting compliments! It makes everything so worth while!! Rachel412: Thanks!! I dont want to have to pay for a new one but I kinda hope I have to!!!!
  12. I have been using nectar Sweets Protein powder and I have two different flavors... Both give me horrible breath after drinking them or eating them in pudding... My mouth taste horrible and my breath is as rank as all get out! Does anyone else have this problem?? Also I was wondering if you all could share what type of protein you like or dont like.... I am almost out of one of my buckets and I need to get some more. Thanks!
  13. Thanks everyone... I cant have gum either but I had being using alot of listerine packs! I had asked the dietician and she said she has never hear anyone complain of bad breath... so I had to post this and see if there was anyone else, I knew I couldnt have been the only one! Thanks for sharing!!

  15. I have been banded for a little over 2 months... I still burp after eating... thats probably from eatting too fast... But I have gas every morning or when I lay down... I dont know why but its when every I lay down that it builds up... its not smelly or anything like that but I can give my husband a run for his money on how loud it is!! lol I know that is probably more than you want to know... I think its hilarious but I just assume its just trapped air...

    MARCH 2011 BANDSTERS!

    Just a quick update! I am a little over 2 months out and down 25 total now!! Thats 1/4 of my total goal!!! I cant beleive how easy it is coming off... I started Zumba 3 weeks ago and I have lost 10lbs since I have started that and I feel great! I bought a refurb bike and have been riding it, when its not storming and it makes me feel like a kid again! Its a great feeling putting my clothes on and the fit perfectly or they are big!!! I think I am pretty close to the "green" zone so I am losing steadily 3-4 lbs a week! I stay full and its great!!! Keep up the great work everyone!
  17. Awesome!!! That is the best feeling in the world isn't it!!! I was banded in March 2011 in a tight 20... I am 23lbs down and can fit into my 18s, they are baggy and I can get my 16s on zipped and buttoned but are still to tight to wear for the day! My ultimate goal is to see a single size pants!! I am hopeing to see that by December 2011! I love going into my closet every so often and trying on all my old (smaller) jeans and actually fitting into them!! I have a pair of 13s from my late teens/early 20s that I am dying to get back into!!! I am hopeing to get into them by the end of the summer!!! Good Luck and congrats to everyone and their process!!! I am trilled with mine and you should be trilled with yours!!! Keep up the great work!!!

    For The Ladies

    I usually cant tell that I am on my period other than the obvious... no cramping, or anything like that.... but since I have had LB I know its here! I was at Zumba on Tuesday and I thought I was going to fall over from the pain from the cramps! I had to stop and go sit down! It hurt so bad that when I got home I took 2 of my pain pills I had left from surgery! It sucks!!!

    MARCH 2011 BANDSTERS!

    Hey everyone! It has been a while since I have been on here... Well just a little update... I had my first fill last monday May 2, and I have lost 6lbs since! I am not eating as much now but still hungry just about every 2 or 3 hours... I started going to Zumba and I absolutely love it! I started keeping track of what I am eating so that I can make sure I am getting all the protein and fluids that I need and to make sure Im not eatting more calories than I am supposed to! It seems to be helping! I am very happy with my progress thus far!! I can't wait to see where my journey takes me!! People are really starting to notice that I am losing and thats the best feeling in the world!! I hope everyone is doing good!!

    Marcyloo I can tell you that 3 oz's of Chicken breast=27 lean ground beef = 24 tuna=18 salmon=15 egg=6 motzerella(sp)=6 those are the things I eat most so I can spout that off the top of my head... I have a list of all the amount of protien for many different things... I you want some specific things let me know and ill see if its on my list... I also use caloriecount.com if you type in what you are looking for it gives you everything you need to know about it... I use that alot if i eat something I am not sure about... it also has alot of resturant menu items so that you can see what you had... hope this helps!

    Who are you??

    HI! My name is Amy I am from TEXAS!! I am 26 and have been married for almost 2 1/2 years to my best friend! We have a very spoiled pug named Jax and a german sheppard mix named Duke, they are our babies! I am a student at Tarleton State University studying to be an elementary teacher! I absolutely love it! I will graduate next May and I can't wait! I have a degree in Architechtural drafting I loved drafting but I hated sitting at a desk for 9 hours a day! I have been over weight all my life... I am 5 feet tall, but I have always had an athletic build so I never looked as big as I really was... since 2007 i had a horrible reaction to poison ivy, I have not been able to keep weight off so i have steadily been gaining weight like nobodies business! where as I used to stay around the same range... but since then I have gone from about 180 up to 240... i have done numerous diets/workouts/bootcamps you name it ive probably done it... but it just wont stay off! So I decided to go the lapband route! I have been banded for 18 days and I could not be happier! I have lost a total of 16lbs so far and looking forward to losing much more! My hobbies include playing with my dogs, scrapbooking, crafts, taking pictures, and being outside. Well thats me in a nut shell! Its good to meet everyone and good luck on your journey!

    I have read somewhere on here that after you have your band and the swelling goes down, its like not having it because you do not have any fill yet so its like its not there. so that might be why you can eat anything... but be careful with doing that so that you dont gain back what you have lost already and so that you dont stretch out your pouch... I feel like I can eat anything too... but I do get full alot quicker than ever before... and if i cant tell if i am full i just stop eatting after eatting my alotted amount.... good luck to you and I hope that helps you!

    MARCH 2011 BANDSTERS!

    Hey Hey everyone!!! I havent been on here in a while been busy with school stuff! But I just wanted to say Hey! and I hope everyone is doing good and having great success! I am feeling about 95% myself again! I only have an issue with sitting straight up in a chair like in class when I move it feels like my incisions are going bust open inside my tummy! its a weird feeling but getting better everyday! I have lost a total of 16lbs so far and couldnt be happier! this is the best decision that I think I could have made! I have started working out a little and speed walking everyday every other day! and it feels great! I am not really hungry and when I do eat it doesnt take much to feel me up... I am on mushies but I have kinda been eating stuff thats not really mushies... nothing bad just tired of mushy stuff... but I just chew the hell out of it and its all good! I am so excited to be on this journey and I cant wait to see where it will take me!!! O and I can fit into my 18's again!! they are a little snug but they button !! Well anyways I just wanted to update everyone and tell you all keep up the good work!
