Going ok here! Still sore which is to be expected, still on liquids but get to start soft/mush tomorrow... Excited about that! Tired of looking at these ugly steristrips on my belly!! Itching pretty good too which means they r healing.. Just walked around Kroger and picked up a few grocerys and some more designer whey to get in my Protein... I have my first fill scheduled for march 11.... Go back to work on Thursday if I'm moving around good!! Still kinda can't believe it's done!?!

My surgery was 2/9.....I'm still having gas pains...not mild either! I keep getting encouraged cuz several of you don't have it anymore... My day has to be here soon... Get to start soft/mushies wed.. Yea! Go back to work thurs. Boo! I think once this gas/bloating stops things will be good...

I'm thinking it's because it's a new "part of you" and some r wanting to have a little fun with it... If I read it right the suggestion may have come from one of the docs... ?

Yep, just stitches... Covered with steristrips....the stitches will dissolve... I can't believe how sore I've been... And that laparoscopic gas keeps grabbing me... Need to go walk again today! Go back to work wed or thurs

Tom... I'm 2 days post op... My stomach feels like a tenderloin that went through a tenderizer... But is slowly improving... Hubby took me to the mall tonight and we walked around slowly for about a half hour... Hang in there! I'm hoping to coach my 6th grade girls basketball game in the am... It's our last game of the reg. Season and we are 9-0... I don't want to miss it!

Congrats! I took the plunge the same day but my anesthesiologist must have been better... The used alot of anti-nausea meds... Thank God! We are on the way to a much better life and I can already taste it!!

I'm not even sure where my port is.. Lol.. Well not really lol but interesting. 2nd my cuts are about an inch, and the others r smaller.... No staples ... I'm ready for mushies too. My stomach hurts like a SOB when coughing, deep breathing or moving, but loosens up when I walk around... I'm drinking Aldi's version of slimfast with 1 scoop of "designer whey" natural flavor.... Gives 29-30 Protein and 250 cal... Best thing is that there is no protein taste whatsoever...I get the designer whey protein at krogers...if I have 2 of these a day along with broth or other clears I get all my protein in... Hang in there all! Deb

Hey there.... Guess I need to get better at maneuvering on this blog... Anyways.... Mine went good but extremely sore today... I guess I had a big hiatal hernia that he repaired while banding me... I'm guessing that is the cause for being more sore... Getting up and around though.. I may go to the mall or walmart to get some walking in tomorrow...its too cold to walk outside.. Glad ur not hurting too much... Keep the updates coming and hopefully I will find them, lol

Hi all, I need some clarification.... I read somewhere about dry tough meats are likely to get stuck, then I read post about beef jerky being a great high protein snack... Now I make a very mean jerky and would love to hear that I'll be able to have it after I get my band.. Any input is greatly appreciated!!!

Hey Mel, im going under the knife wed. too.... Scared to death as well, but know it's what I need to do. No more looking back at our failures but just looking forward to our success! I'm so glad there are so many on here to help support eachother... Just a hint though, stay away from the negative posts and keep a positive mind and follow the rules! Ok... Being banded Tuesday, and exact same feelings.... I'm not hungry on preop diet but craving everything and it has been so hard not to eat while everyone around eats as they please.... But hangin in there and will make it through this.... Just as all of you will!!! We beat obesity and we will do it together!!

I am finishing up day 5 of 14... It is getting harder every day... I'm only getting 2 protein shakes in and a cup of tomato soup or cream of shroom... Staying at my 800 cal. I haven't stepped on scale yet.. I usually get discouraged with the scale. On the posiitive side, I got my bedroom closet cleaned out.. Kept me from wanting to eat. The worst thing though is that I just found out my surgeon isn't in network so will be on phone bright and early Monday am to get this fixed! Supposed to go for anesthesia consult tues and expecting a big snow/ice storm... Hope I can make it... Bout 1.5 hr drive... Uggghhh

Hi Bunnykins!! My big day is the 9th too. Today I started my 2 week liquid liver shrinker...lol... mmmmmm protein powder!! To top it all off, I called insurance to bug them again, and I am APPROVED!! We can do this!!!

APPROVED!!! WHOOP WHOOP!!! Thats a big relief! Started 2 week liquid diet today... mmmmmm protien shake/smoothie for breakfast! I'm soooo excited to start this journey!
