You know you lost weight when
msmomof3 replied to Thomas CPA's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
a very critical old friend sees you after about 3 years and says...."Wow, are you losing weight?" -
Hey Carmen, I have been taking Viactiv for my Calcium, they are chewable and chocolate! My doc recommended them. I have been told that until our tummies heal completely (proly when we go on solids) every pill larger than birth control has to be chewed or crushed, many of my nurses that are years out still take their pills in a chewable form, depends on what your pouch can handle.

Feel Good Friday!!! Tell us how much you've lost since your Surgery Day!!!
msmomof3 replied to LilMissDiva Irene's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Well I started out at my highest weight of 351.....not even sure when that was, just some time earlier this year, maybe late last year. Started getting serious about surgery in January, first doctor visit I was 348, about two months later I was down to 343, doctor asked me to lose 10 more pounds a month before my scheduled surgery.....so the day of my surgery I weighed in at 324, I was absolutely elated!! I had surgery on July 27th so I am 9 days out and I weighed in at 312 today at the doctor's office!! I feel good, clothes are starting to get bigger, and I just look at myself and think, I haven't been this size in 2-3 years....it is AMAZING!! I took a shower yesterday and for the first time in I don't know how long, I wrapped a towel around me and it actually COVERED me!! So overall I have lost 39 lbs!! Thank you all for the support! I am enjoying the amazing journey!! -
Just getting home...tell me it gets better
msmomof3 replied to DrMommy's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Hey Sheila, Sounds like you have had a rough time lately but you are so positive! that is great because the last couple of days I have felt better but the first few days out I felt horrible and didn't really know if I had made the right decisions.....I know I have, but it just took a little while to realize. I was so sick I thought for sure something was wrong, but am feeling 100% better just get tired out easily.....any the whole reason for my post is that I have problems with just plain Water too, but I get it down easier if it is flavored. I have been using Crystal Lite Pure that is strawberry/kiwi flavored or just putting lemon juice and splenda in. It definitely helps me get it down. Hope this helps!! Thanks for the update! -
TMI for some...but how do you smell?
msmomof3 replied to Texasmom65's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
This is exactly what I have been going through the last couple of days!! It is horrible, I smell everything! And the breath thing.....i feel like I have to brush my teeth a hundred times a day! I am so glad I am not the only one with these problems!! I figured it was part of the surgery, but really didn't know. Thanks for posting! -

msmomof3 replied to Tiffykins's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
you look absolutely BEAUTIFUL! You are such an inspiration! Thanks for sharing your pics.....and BTW your arms look fine! I am 7 days post op and am so afraid of batwing arms, but I will be just fine with it in the end because it will mean I will have lost the weight I need to! Good luck with the rest of your pregnancy, you look great! -
I am with you DrMommy, I have had a horrible couple of days! Surgery went great but I have had no energy and am so looking forward to pureed foods so hopefully I can get my energy up. I am not starving, in fact I don't feel anything, not hungry, not thirsty, not full.....it is irritating! Good luck to you! Fortunately I get to start pureed foods tomorrow!! Yay!

Protein Bullet for Energy?
msmomof3 replied to AutumnBlueCarmen's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Sounds like we are in the same boat.....not getting in enough water, not enough protein and I have absolutely NO ENERGY WHATSOEVER!!! I feel horrible, I need some help! I feel like i am constantly drinking but I know I am not getting enough fluids and as for protein, it is the worst! I tried a protein powder shake and could only get half down!!! I need some motivation..... -

msmomof3 replied to msmomof3's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
i am trying....just one more day!! I cannot wait! I started my liquid diet today and I feel ok! My dr only requires one day of liquid but I am doing two just to be safe. Nerves are starting to get a little jittery, but I can finally see the other side!! It has been a long journey, I started this process over 7 years ago and now it is finally happening! Thank you so much for the support! -
That sounds wonderful!! Mine is on Wednesday and I am PRAYING for a great recovery like yours!! Glad to hear you are doing so well!!
