BMI 39.9, what to do?
SkinnyGenes replied to Estella's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'm not sure if this would apply to your situation, but this is what my docotor told me. You just need to weight in at a BMI of 40 or greater. That is the number they will submit to the insurance company. In your situation, I guess they would submit to a case manager for the universal system. He said that is the only number they submit. If i were in your shoes, I might treat myself to chocolate every night for a week and go back to be weighed. During the months of supervision, say you ate properly and excrised but remain status quo. I'm not a fan of lying but insurance is a b****. They will get over every way they can try. I cavet all this with, we need to learn a new way of eating and living. Pay attention in the nutrition classes (I have found them very infomation) and get it some thought about how you will living your new life. -

Congrats! Did you have to do a 6 month supervise weight loss program? -
Hi Everyone, This is my first time posting but I've been lurking around for a while. Well, I have my first meeting with the surgeon next week and I'm trying to compile a list of question for him. Below are the questions I've came up with so far. Is there anything you wished you asked before the surgery? 1. How many VSGs have you performed? 2. How many leak test do you perform prior to releasing the patient? Are there follow–up leak test performed? 3. Have you had any leaks? If so, what is your rate? 4. What size buggee do you use? 5. After the staples are done, do you cauterized or use sutures? 6. If your patients have experienced complications, what types have they experienced? 7. Results- What types outcomes are your patients experience at 1, 3 and 5 yrs out? 8. How long is the hospital stay? 9. When can I start driving and how long will I be out of work? Any and all comments are appreciate! Thanks
