I have facebook and I'm only a week post op but I love having new friends on my facebook specially since I play a lot of those games lol so ill add u thx!

I'm just wondering if I've ruined my band I see how everyone is on liquids for 1 or 2 weeks after surgery and all my papers from my dr and every meeting with my dr he told me my post op diet was 1 to 2 days liquids then 3rd day start mushies for the 3rd and 4th day then 5th day start eating regular food. So that's what I've done but of course I don't rly have any restrictions I do get full faster and when I do get full it hurts and I feel extremely bloated and I just don't know if this is all normal if there is anyone else who was told by their dr they could eat by the 3rd day. I'm going to my primary dr tomorrow and I'm gonna have him look at it. Any suggestions

I'm only 1 week post op and want to know how soon did others start exercising?

Well it just started snowing where I live I live in tn and u can count on me not going out there I don't get along with the cold or snow. Thanks for everyones advise!

Kourtany I'm young too I'm a 21 yr old female and I can tell u I know alittle bit how u feel just waiting to start a new life. We are so young and we still have so much ahead of us. I can tell u my insurance approved my surgery 1/3/11 the same day the dr submitted my paperwork the reason they did was because I called them so many times before they even got the papers. My primary dr even suggested nailing them with so many medical things like prescriptions blood work multiple times different tests I was at my dr office 2 or 3 times a week so by the time my insurance got the papers they approved it asap just to get me to leave them alone lol I have asthma and idk how many inhalers I ended up getting I even got a new breathing machine even tho I rarely need it then I even got chantix to help quit smoking. My surgery was 2/2 and it feels good to finally be banded. Don't get discouraged because just think your 18 and by the time your 23 your gonna be skinny! (5yr drs say it takes)!!! Good luck

How long does the glue stay on the incisions?

My prev post called surgery incisions effecting my life. Well it was mainly cuz my fiance wouldn't have sex with me cuz of my incisions well I finally got him past that lol I just left my shirt on. But they r pretty nasty looking!

Ugh idk wat to do. My fiance won't even hardly touch me or even have sex with me because of the way my incisions look help please

Thanks everyone for the advise but I'm proudly able to say we finally had sex I just kept my shirt on lol. But he did finally tell me he is just scared of hurting me and he said the incisions are not very attractive and now that I think of it I can totally understand why he doesn't want to see them he is the type of guy who gets a cold and thinks he is dieing. He recently had to get a shot in the butt for bronchitus and he passed out. So he does not do very well when it comes to medical things lol poor guy we could never have kids he wouldn't be able to watch lol. I'm still goin to see a therapist tomorrow to see how it goes since I am experiencing a lot of life changes. Good luck to you all!

Well question 1 idk cuz I didn't have one of those wrap things so I'm assuming it doesn't rly matter I just used a pillow when needed. 2nd that's exactly where my port id do the pain ur feeling is where ur skin and muscle is swollen and bruised prolly from your port if that's where urs is at. 3rd yup the bending over and twisting and leaning is going to hurt for a couple of weeks. Your body is getting adjusted to something foreign being in there. Right now ur body is not to happy to have it in there but I'm a week post op and most the pain is gone I'm still having to use my pain meds to sleep cuz I still can't lay on my stomache so my sides hurt from laying on them. The only thing I can rly suggest is take lots of gas x strips and walk a lot it may stink to walk but its worth it. I was able to get most the gas out within 48 hrs. Now with just a week post op I'm walking around all day just fine with hardly any pain. Now I can tell u this all most everyone ends up having a hard time with ur bowle movements so u may want to look into stool softners because now once u get constipated its extremely uncomfortable. When does the glue come off the incisions?

well I was just wondering because the glue is on my incisions but its also all around it like there is a bunch and where there is no incisions there is glue pinching my skin I just didn't know exactly how long they stayed there. Thanks

I'm going to see a therapist at 10am tomorrow I'm nervious but also excited maybe he can help me understand why my fiance did not want me to have surgery its like he didn't want me to be happy with the way I look or to be healthy and I can't understand how anyone does not want that for someone

Ya the glue is still on them. I don't think my dr cleaned them before putting the glue on cuz when I woke up from surgery saw them there was dried up blood mixed in with the glue. Gross I know lol. Thanks for the support!

Ya he says the aren't attracted so he doesn't want to. But I have a feeling its more than just the incisions he doesn't even want to touch me anymore. He also has said he didn't want me to have the surgery. Idk I'm gonna speak to a therapist. Maybe having this surgery has brought out more of him that I didn't know so much abt before. Its like I'm seeing a totally different guy and I don't like it. I feel as if he doesn't want me to be happy with myself

I'm not sure ecactly how much I should try to eat a day???? I'm wondering if I should eat more. Yesterday I ate a sugar free popsicle drank 2 protien shakes and then ate an egg with 2 mini turkey sausages. Drank a 2 bottles of water. That's it. I feel like I should try to eat alittle more? Any advise?

My dr allows 5 days post surgery to start solids. But I'm scared to over eat so I try not to rly eat much. Like today so far 1 protein shake for breakfast. Then I've ate a atkins low carb protein bar. That's it so far today. I'm not sure if I should be trying to eat something for breakfast lunch and dinner.

I was on a 2 wk diet. My dr allowed me to eat 1 meal a day for the first week. The second week was all liquids but I did cheat I still ate one meal a day. Just 2 days before surgery I fast and did all liquids! I didn't have any problems. I wouldn't worry abt it just try ur best to stay on the liquids til Friday. Good luck

My surgery was wed and I've only been able to go twice. But both times I tried and tried and tried I was prolly in the bathroom for 30 mins forcing myself to go lol. Is this how its always gonna be now?????

The best advise I can give is if its causing u panic attacks u need to go back to the dr that put it in and tell him u want it out its causing u stress. I just got mine but my dr did mention he has taken some out for ppl who did not like it. He said it was as simple as putting it in. Good luck

My surgery was feb 2ns as well my dr told me by today I could start eating again just watch my portions well I ate and felt fine for awhile then ate alittle something again now regretting that so tomorrow I'm gonna do liquids again blah lol. I did get most my gas out I used gas x strips and walked a lot!!! I would walk around the house during every commercial on tv lol. I'm not rly experiencing bad pain but I also try to stay on top of the medicine! Good luck

So I had surgery last wed. And I was able to progress to soft foods yesterday then solids today. Ny dr told my parents he did do alittle bit of a fill during surgery. But I don't rly feel any restrictions instead I feel a sharp pain in my right side. Is this normal or wat could it be?

I'm sry my pain is in my left side its only after I eat. But then a few minutes ago I noticed when I burped a tiny bit of food came up with it so I think the discomfort is prolly from eating so tomorrow I'm gonna just do liquids and give my body more time to recover even tho my dr said I could eat.
