soon2bthin.com started following January Bandsters???, Swelling, Adding Ticker..Need Help Please and and 2 others

My swelling lasted around nine days - not toooo long! The areas around my incisions still feel "hard" but the swelling that was present initially, is gone.

Well I can't give you any advice PeaCeJ as I was only banded on January 16th myself but I can certainly identify with you and tell you that you're not alone - the hunger hit me today like a freight train and I just couldn't believe it!! I ate four meals instead of three and just had to put the day down to experience. Tomorrow, if I feel the same way I'm just going to have slightly larger portions because I haven't adjusted my portion sizes since the day after surgery and I'm sure the fact that swelling is reducing has to have an effect on hunger pangs. It's 11pm and I'm just back from a half-hour walk which was the most positive way I could think of to end my day. Fingers crossed tomorrow will be easier!!

No. I haven't had a problem with anything going down and in fact, if it wasn't for the scars and the fact that I haven't been hungry I'd hardly believe the band had been fitted at all. I know this will change with time as I've heard a lot of people have only run into problems after their first fill...

Adding Ticker..Need Help Please

Found this link and it solved my Ticker-problem - hope this helps! www.lapbandtalk.com/get-ticker-your-t16218.html -
Everything seems to be going ok so far. I was only advised to be on a liquid diet for the first three days or so and was then told I should be trying things like scrambled egg, well-cooked vegetables. minced beef in gravy and other foods of similar consistency. Haven't had a problem yet. I'm still a bit sore and one of my small scars is looking a bit weepy but otherwise I'm fine. Thank God the shoulder pains have been and gone!!

Adding Ticker..Need Help Please

I've been having a problem with this too and every time I try to save the change to my signature I'm told that it's an invalid file or an invalid url....very frustrating. -
Is it supposed to hurt this much?

I was banded on January 16th and am still a little bit sore around my port-incision but the worst pain I've experienced so far has been the pain in my shoulder because of gas - it was almost unbearable lastnight. The nurses told me that walking or exercising would help so I went for a good walk lastnight but I can appreciate that it's difficult to motivate yourself to move around when you're feeling miserable. Hope everyone who's been banded in the last week is feeling much better already. I'm waking up in the mornings and am delighted that whatever pain or discomfort I'm experiencing is less than I felt at the same time the day before!! Onwards and upwards. -
Thanks for the feedback everyone! Had my first consultation yesterday and was very apprehensive about it but now that the decision has been made, I feel much better. Surgeon was very matter-of-fact about the whole thing, which was what I'd hoped for. He wasn't trying to sell me some miracle cure and basically told me what I knew already - poor choices regarding my lifestyle have got me to this place and healthy choices from now on are what's going to change my life for the better. This operation hasn't taken off in Ireland yet so my family doctor has been extremely negative about it - won't support my decision whatsoever. Time to find a new family doctor I reckon!! Assuming my blood tests come back ok, surgery could happen within three weeks...scary!!

Hi everyone. Just stumbled upon the site today and have taken great comfort in it. I have only recently decided to have surgery and am going for my first consultation today with my surgeon - Dr Manaceau in Advanced Cosmetic Surgery, Dublin...anybody any feedback on him?? I have been putting on weight for around eight years and am now a whopping 280lbs - my ideal weight is between 160 and 170lbs so it's a big challenge but the decision has been made to tackle the problem and 2007 is going to be my year. Two of my friends have had the surgery and are very happy with the decisions they have made. While I have seen first-hand that things have not always been easy for them post-op, they have never regretted the decisions they made to go for the operation. Hopefully when 2008 rolls in I'll be one of you who is giving positive feedback to someone else who is afraid of his/her life of what lies ahead :phanvan Looking forward to checking in with you all in the coming weeks and months.
