    Eating issues.

I just had the same experience and had a slight un-fill. My tightness was stress related and I went back two weeks later to get a fill and I'm back in the zone! I can say I have let myself stay too tight before and my esophagus dilated and I had to have all the fluid in my band removed for four weeks do it could heal. Took me six months to get back into the zone and gained back 20 lbs.
  2. I had a port revision due to it leaking. Very simple procedure and I was out after one hour of surgery and back home. It was very sore for the two weeks after and I did miss a couple days of work.

To all the lapbands out there!

I too experience being tight one day and not the next. I've been very concerned that I was too tight so I had a slight un-fill and believe I didn't want to. My doctor told me it was most likely tighter from stress and I have been under a lot of stress lately. Also I was stressing there may be something wrong with my band and that made it even worse yet. Needless to say with my slight un-fill I can eat so much more and have to go back to the doctor in a couple days to get filled. I was in the green zone and need to get back and try not to stress so much. I also asked my doctor about humidity and allergies causing me to be tight and she said that was not possible.
  4. I have been experiencing for the last month my band being much tighter than normal. I haven't had a fill and nothing had changed. It could possibly be stress but I'm always stressed. The only other thing I can think of is the change of temperature. I live in FL and wonder if the humidity could have something to do with it. Anyone else have similar issues?
  5. When you all do get the sensations of your band tightening do feel like your too tight and become concerned?

    St. Pete/Bradenton/Sarasota area?

I'm in Tampa and was banded by Dr. Jesse in St. Pete at Palms of Pasadena. I'd love to change doctors and have one in Tampa that is closer. Recommendations???

I need someone to kick my ass...

Paula I know how your feeling. I too am trying to get back on track. I was banded 12/09 and lost 70 lbs and then had a dilated esophagus so my band was deflated for a few months and then I had a port revision due to a leaky port all last year and gained back 20 pounds. Since that time I have finally lost the 20 and encouraged to continue due to the support on this forum AND my new friends on My Fitness Pal as they can see what I eat everyday and I'm held accountable. I'm addicted to logging my food and finding new things to cook and it has totally motivated me. Now I just need to get back into exercising! Once you get your mind made up you can do it!!!

    Struggling with weight loss

Nikki I understand what your going through. I was banded 12/09 and I have lost no weight since December 2012. I just stopped paying attention to what I was eating. Ever since I started participating on this forum and found friends on My Fitness Pal from this forum I'm doing much better. I'm addicted to MFP and can view what everyone else is eating and I get great ideas. Also, everyone else can see what I eat too! You can get back on track and may even need a bit of a fill to get you going. Best of luck and add on MFP "bfigie"!
  10. I have been banded since 2010 and despite my hurdles and complications I've lost 70 pounds. However, I'm stuck at my current weight and eat about 1200 calories per day. I don't pay too much attention to carbs and protein as long as I stay within my calories but the last few months I can't stop eating the sweets and junk and need some motivation to get me back on track. My problem is I just love to eat! In reading people's posts on here that are doing so well, how do I focus and get back on track??? HELP!'n
  11. Thanks Donna I will have to lol into obtaining that book.
  12. I go on Spark People for tons of goods recipies and they have an app for your phone that I love. I did purchase one book from Amazon called "The Emotional First Aid Kit- a Practical Guide to Life After Surgery" that had great reviews but I didn't like it at all. Half of the book was about preparing for surgery and the other half told me nothing new.

    2 Years Post-op

I take Prilosec as needed for heartburn as a result of being banded and I was told by my doctor that was very normal. No reflux though, that is a bad sign.
  17. I had the experience of my hair falling out and it was because my band was too tight and I wasn't eating enough food, especially protein. Once I had my band adjusted it stopped. Are you eating enough?

    I cant stop eating bad

Yes I am very much a part of the clean your plate food club! Working on smaller portions and went out last night and stocked the house with proper foods. No junk!!! I do use my fitness pal religiously. Thanks to all of you for the motivation, it's very much appreciated. I've been in this forum for two years and never posted until now. I love the support and it is so badly needed.

  20. Hello everyone - I am a 38 year old married mom of two boys. I work full time as a paralegal. I was banded on December 2, 2009, and have lost 40 pounds so far. I feel with the holidays passing by I have fallen off the band wagon and need some support from fellow band members! I didn't gain weight over the holidays, but didn't loose either. One of my concers is I think i should have lost more weigt than i have so far. I started out at 246 and weigh 203. I don't exercise and haven't found the motivation to do so. I am in a bit of a depresive slup and need help. My next issue is that I have learned what bad foods to eat that go down easily and need to stop eating those foods as well as getting out of my head that I dont need to put something in my mouth evey minute of the day like I used to feel before I was banded. However, those feelings are coming back again. I went to a support group last night for the first time and got a bit of encouragement and feel better today but need to continue the support so that is why Im here. I have a 10cc band that is filled with 8cc's of saline so i dont belive I can tolerate anymore of a fill. Any advice and encouragement would be much appreceiated!
