Last November, I was rushed to the ER for dehydration due to my Lap Band tightening. Like you I could not hold down water but it took me a little longer to figure it was because of the band. Long story short, changes to my hormones/stress caused my band to tighten. I didn't know it was possible....I have since been unfilled (too much) and gained 20 pounds. I am thinking about getting refilled but I am afraid of getting close to the point of where it will over tighten again.

Hello Everyone, So I am coming up on my 1 year anniversary of being banded. I have lost 35-40 pounds and since I can see a Doctor regularly now, I am excited to get the remaing 40 pounds off. I go for my third fill today. I am excited!!!

Does anyone know or recommend a hospital/Doctor in Kuwait to do a fill? Thank you!!

I was back in Iraq five days after surgery. Somedays are better than other as I have a great support group here that makes sure I take care of myself. I will not be able to have my first fill until March or May. We are only allowed so many days of leave so it will depend if my leadership allows meto go back before then. Dr. Basha gave me 3ccs, so hopefully that will hold me until I can travel to Dubai again or if someone knows where/if I can get a fill in Kuwait. So far, including the pre-diet I have lost 18 pounds total and I am going to the gym everyday. I am not sure but I think that is ok for 3 weeks after surgery right???

Hi Purpleshell, Happy be-lated birthday!!! Dr. Basha conducted my surgery also!!! I am excited to meet someone who was banded in Dubai. My friends thought I was crazy to go and the surgery done by myself but it worked out well. I am already back in Iraq and doing well so far.... Dr. Basha showed me where my port was, gave me my fills and took extra precautions of informing me of all of the quirks due to the difference of medical care in a war zone. The only place I have swelling is my port entry but I am going to try an take easy and not walk as much. Thanks for the tips on the rash, I guess I have been using alot of vitamin E so I will try and take that out of the equation to see if the rash disappears.

Hello Everyone, I was banded 29 Dec 2010 in UAE (Dubai) but I am from the United States currently working in Iraq. My experience was great except for the 3 x days of gas. I am still tender around my port site and it swells from time to time. Is this normal??? I have also experienced a head to toe skin rash but can't figure out if it is a food allergy or a result of the band.....
