You can get them from either Vitamin World or Vitamin Cottage... For vitamins they both taste great... Too bad I can't find ones that taste like candy...

  14. Hey There, I was banded 1/27.. I had a stuck episode a few weeks ago... Bread - never touched it since... I am one of those where bread is not my friend. That scared me so bad... It took 15 minutes to pass and the pain of being stuck to go away... I went for my first fill on 2/24 unfortunately my doctor was away on an emergency so his partner went ti fill me... After three pokes with the long needle I got up and said "your done"... He had no idea where the port was... He tried finding it with the ultra sound no go... Of course I was freaking out thinking there was something wrong or my port flipped. I was rescheduled with my doctor on March 1st. Went in and my doctor filled me with 2.5cc he started with 2.9cc.... I feel a good restriction in the morning - it really depends on what I eat.. I started this journey weighing 305... I now weight 288...7lbs of that was during the preop... I am really frustrated and disappointed because the scale has not moved since in the right direction. When I started solids of course the scale went up... Everyone tells me I look good and that I have lost some weight and what am I doing (I have not shared the surgery with anyone)... I don't see what they see... I hear about people losing 3-5lbs a week... It's just not happening for me... This has been one emotional ride... I walk everyday about 30-45 minutes at lunch... Take in anywhere from 800-1200 calories daily... I just don't get it.. Dr. told me if I was not feeling restriction to come see him before my next appointment which is on the 29th... Congratulations to you all for your weight loss and working through the emotional part of it... I keep hope that soon the scale will start moving in the right direction for me...
  15. At home relaxing with my girls. House feels weird now that my son moved out. I raised him well he will do great on his own... I am proud of him.

  16. I had my surgery 1/27 and had pain but I think I worked myself up in my mind thinking it was ging to be the worse pain ever. Due to the gas there was minor pain/discomfort but when I realized that walking made it feel better I was ok. The surgery was on Thursday and I went back to work on Monday. I have seen so many questions and answers on this site for banders and I have to tell you that all that information came in handy when I needed it... I have had some discouragement as well. I lost a good amount of weight on pre-op of course that was due to all the liquids. Than my doctor slowly started moving me to soft foods - I stepped on my scale to find that I had gained 5 lbs. I almost lost it. I couldn't figure what I was doing wrong, considering that I was still between liquids and soft foods. I Protein shake it in the am and when I get to work I have another shake around what would be snack time. For lunch it will consist of tuna/tomatoes and than maybe another shake or some chicken around 4ish when I start feeling hungry again.. This is usually what my menu is daily.. Some would think I would get tired of it BUT to tell you the truth it is easy. If I try anything else at this time I can feel it try to get stuck or it goes down slowly... I have read so many post on items getting stuck I am scared to even let it get that far. Hopefully the scale will start moving in the other direction soon.. I don't regret my decision.. I will for always be happy that I am banded. I have to thank this forum as at my scariest times of wondering - I turned here and found my answers...Thanks EVERYONE .

  19. 4 Mile Walk this morning. Feels good to have energy back

  20. Congrats to you... Dr. Kirshenbaum is my surgeon and I am 16 days post op. He is excellent and you can totally do this on your own if you have to... Your first day will consist of mainly sleeping it off... Being forced to get up and get your own Water is good as you will need to walk so you don't get blod clots and you will also need to walk off that gas that lingers and causes minor discomfort. You can do this... Keep us posted.

January 2011 Bandsters - Where are you?

Hello Vicki, I was banded on the 27th... The first few days was rough... WHen I hit day 5 I was feeling fantastic... Sometimes I will get sore around my port... I am on full liquids - I guess it is HELL time as I seem to be very hungry every few hours... Sometimes I wait till my stomach is really fighting a war before I decide to do something about it... One thing I have found that works is... I go get Broc and Chick or Terri chick from the chinese resturant and then I get chicken noodle soup... I take the broth and blend that with the chinese chick and broc and I have one hellov liquid drink that totally does it for me... I still get the chinese food taste but like a soup and I have to say it is good. I go for my first fill on the 24. I will be on my soft foods than... Mushies is Monday... there is always light at the end of the tunnel... Good Luck

  23. Took Pain meds-waiting to kick in as deep breathing is starting to hurt.

  24. Got through first weekend of pre-op. 10 more days to go.
