Ok, I had my third fill yesterday, and like you Crystal I feel I should be able to have a small, controlled meal and be satisfied. My doctor put in 1cc which put me up to 5cc in 14cc band. So far, I feel restriction, I think. I almost feel like there is a ball in my stomach or something. Its not really a full feeling, like something is in there, not like I'm stuffed with food. Does that make sense to anyone?

That's awesome, I'm not bulging out of my bra at all. I can't wait to go from a FULL (and I mean FULL) DD to even a single letter, but I my goal would to have like apples instead of cantaloupes! DH wouldn't mind, but me, I hate huge boobs!!!

Ok, I was doing so awesome, right on track with my goals. Then, I had a complication to the gall bladder surgery that was done when I got my band and it was downhill from there. I couldn't eat for a week and then when I felt better, the floodgates opened. I had lost a little more weight during that time and it was like I could "afford" to eat anything. Protien, was replaced with carbs and things sneaking in because I was lookin good and feelin good. But I'm not done, I can't afford it, I still have 80 some pounds to lose. I think I am going to go back on shakes for a few days, to kick start my body again and FOCUS on the main goal, not the now.

I've just been a sucky bandster!!! That's the truth, but I'm back!

I had my second fill too about a week and a half ago. I now have 4 cc in a 14 cc band. I still am hungry, yes some of it is emotional eating (4 children, husband going to school 2 nights a week, and soccer/baseball practice 6 days a week) granted, I am not eating like I used to my scale is stuck and I do feel old habits creeping up. I've been off the board for awhile, but I can tell I do need to be here like I was at the beginning. But I think I will be calling for another fill soon.

On Saturday we had Outback, I had chicken and veggies, and a few cheese fries. Well everything was under control. Then I don't know what happened, I was like an eating machine. Needless to say, I was in serious pain in the middle of the night. I vomited a few times, and was very nauseated and sore. Oh, and my urine was way way dark ( I know tmi). I called my dr. office and they told me that what I was feeling was normal and to go back to liquids and work my way back up. I guess I'm really in a mental struggle right now between old habits and my new teacher (the band). I have often felt I am a control freak and the one thing I would let go on is food, does that make sense? Anyhow, now I think I am not able to tolerate acidic things like my crystal light. Hopefully this won't last long. I do feel ok, but I really screwed up, and I will not let this happen again.

I had the ERCP done on Friday afternoon with a gastro and I guess my surgeon popped in for my test. All they found was some sludge in my bile ducts. They think when I was having all the pain, it was like a gall bladder attack, and a stone may have passed then. So it was all good news. I am feeling fine, except a little itchy, which I guess that happens when you are jaundice, the bile salts cause itching. They said that should be gone by then end of the weekend.

Calling all February Bandsters!

ogli, Slimfast makes a low-carb shake that has low sugar and 20 grams of protien. You can buy the 4 packs in the grocerey store or Sam's has them too. -
Ok, since I last posted, I got bloodwork done and have seen my doctor. It is not a lap band issue. I had my gall bladder taken out at the same time and my surgeon thinks that there is a stone still in there somewhere, because my liver enzymes came back high (reason for the dark urine). So he wants me to go have a scope to check all the ducts, and if there is a stone it can be pulled out tomorrow. I was soo scared that it was the band!!! I can deal with the gall bladder thing, that can be fixed but I was so worried, I am definately going to treat it better though.

Jacqui, how long did it take for it to pass. Its Tuesday, I'm still nauseated and sore. I have another call in to my dr. but they haven't called back yet.

Anige, I feel you pain. I have four kids, and it takes a good month for it to go through the entire house. In the fall, I start my kids on acidophilis chewables (its the good bacteria in yogurt) and it seems to help them fight those bugs off. I take them too (but not since the band, I forgot to ask my dr). Anyways, my kids only got a small sniffle so far this year (knock on wood). Good Luck!

Calling All Surgeries Monday February 25th

I see my doctor on the 27th, then we will talk about a fill. Karen, I am getting between 80-90 grams of protien in a day. I just started pureeds and the list my dr. gave me is pretty blah. I can do pureed veggie soups, white meats (they say no red meats for 6 months), and a few veggies. To me its just the same as liquids. The pureed stage is until Monday, then I can go to soft foods, it just seems like forever. I just don't want to push anything an stretch my pouch. Maybe I' m just dwelling on it too much. It really was easy up til now and I know it'll get easier. -

So, are you in bandster hell?????????????????????????????????? I'm hungry and crabby!!!! -
I am in the same boat. I was fine up until yesterday. I was on clear liquids until the 29th, then full liquids, and as of yesterday, pureeds until Monday, then I can start soft foods. I'm hungry and I want to chew. I almost can't take it anymore. I've been sooo good! Hmmmmmm, guess, I'll just make some soupy oatmeal!

Ok, is anyone starving???????? I am doing so good, and I'm proud of myself, but I just want to rip something open and chow down!!!! -
I too have had it, it does seem like its a bunch of trapped gas. I asked my nurse how long that will last, and she said it could take a few weeks.

How is everyone doing? I'm ok. I think I would feel great, if I didn't do the gall bladder at the sametime. That incision is the most tender and bruised. I feel good. I had some soupy oatmeal and soupy mashed potatos, It was nice to have something with texture, sort of. I still am burping, I asked the nurse how much longer with that and she said it could take a couple of weeks, sorry Crystal. I just wanted to see how everyone else is healing and what not. -
I can't wait to see that Jack!!!!!LOL. I had a dream that I ate Tostitos and then woke up not knowing if I did or didn't eat them.

Me, too. I got home today around 11 am. My surgery was supposed to start at 1 yesterday, but I didn't get in until almost 3. Had gall bladder taken out, That area hurts more than the the others. Lots of gas. Taking it real easy. Crystal Lite and Nectar Strawberry Kiwi, yum!!!!! Hope everyone is well. -
Lori, I'm so glad you did well. Your detail was great, as I am pretty nervous. But I get to do the gall bladder at the sametime, so I have nothing to compare. Best of luck for the rest of your recovery!
