9 Months Out And Just Started Vomiting ? Weird
TexasSteph posted a topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I just wanted to see if this has happened to anyone else.. I was sleeved in March and have had no problems with any food until last week. I don't eat bad but noticed I had French fries twice within two weeks and my stomach totally rejected it. My body cramped up and achy. I think it was due to the grease because that's all that came up. I know sorry TMI. Anyone else experience this? I thought it was weird to start at 9 months out. -
Cant Take Much Time Off From School :/
TexasSteph replied to sashadee's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I took a week and two days off and returned to work just fine. You should be fine. As soon as your able to take your Vitamins and shakes take them because you will be weak the first week. You will feel fine then after a shower you may need to rest in the beginning. Just listen to your body. -

Lifting Question.
TexasSteph replied to futureskinnypants's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
This is something you will want to check with your dr. I am 4 weeks out and last week I tried shooting a basketball a few times with my son and extending my arms high was a little uncomfortable so I stopped. Not because of the weight of the ball but as I threw the ball my stomach stretched and I felt a little ouch. If I bend too much usually picking up my sons clothes my stomach will fill sore. Listen to your body. Don't overdue it. My dr says it takes about 6 months for your stomach muscles to heal on the inside. You will have a one month check up after your surgery so ask then. By then you will know how your body responds to certain things. I think you will be ok with your dog but I worry about lifting 65 lbs at one month. Sorry I wasn't much help. -
Family Stressing Me Out 2 Days Before Big Day. Help!
TexasSteph replied to Misstxdiva's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Your parents are just worried but I know it's a lot right now because you have your own concerns and hon tomorrow night you will probably be more worried and second guessing yourself. Completely normal...we all did. Take this time for yourself . If you are alone have water and everything you need near by you. It's going to be difficult to get yourself up because your stomach will be sore. I slept in a recliner in the beginning it was easier to get out of. Try this ...lay in bed tonight and try get up by not using your stomach muscle. Try not to do a sit up. Use your arms. This will help you come up with how you need to sleep or what things you need around to help you get up. I'm just saying to try it since it sounds like you may be at home alone and getting up sometimes is hard if you don't have help. I also live in San Antonio and if you need anything let me know. -
Going Alone

Everyones situation has been a little different. I can tell you the first two days I was good because of the pain meds. You will be sore from your tummy getting up and but i'm sure your nurses will help. Don't overdue yourself....ask for help. I also took dissolvable gas x strips that my dr allowed me to take as soon as I woke up and that helped with the gas but you want to check with your dr. Good luck and your in my prayers. -
Pickles/relish - When Can I Have?
TexasSteph replied to Stacey Nicole's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I tried pickles 3 weeks out and tried a bite and waited to see how it went done. I'm 4 weeks out and can eat pickles fine. Funny thing is I hardly ate pickles before my surgery and have cravings for them. -

Dissapointment ... First Personal Training Session
TexasSteph replied to Greeneyedgirl's topic in Fitness & Exercise
Don't let someone like him affect you in anyway. If you want a trainer use someone else. Have you checked you tube on what some sleevers have done? My husband says to buy some weights to have at home for your arms. Not heavy ones but some to where you feel a pull and work out your arms. For your stomach...squats, push ups, sit ups, and lunges. Make sure you keep drinking protein to keep the muscle toned. One day at time. And we are here if you need anything. -
