Realizing that I need help!!!
Byebyeband replied to Byebyeband's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I can definitely relate to what you're saying. When it comes to the fast food, that's usually exactly what I do I'm just doing it way too often. Congrats on your 25 and I love the way you put that into perspective. Thank you so much -
Realizing that I need help!!!

Thanks for the tip, however, as I mentioned in my initial post, I am not swapping addictions. I am simply carrying on with my life as I was pre band and I know this is not acceptable for what I'm trying to achieve. Thank you for your words. -

Thank you and you are so right. I need a hobby! LOL When I do go out, I do try and stick to either straight tequila or a light vodka mix, but you hit it right on the nose with the making smart food decisions after you have been drinking. Bottom line, I need to have self control and find more productive things to do with my time. I dont really have any friends, so I will give it a go alone. I havent been to the gym, just been sort of walking occassionally, which I know needs to change. Thank you so much for your feedback. It truly helped -
Realizing that I need help!!!

Thanks and you are right. Truth is I have been going through a lot of things in my personal life (breakup, loss of friend, financial issues, the list goes on). I live alone and sometimes just sitting at home can kind of eat at you (no pun intended) so I choose to go out and get my mind off it. I realize now that it's doing more harm than good and am actively working on coming up with a plan to limit those bar hopping nights dramatically. -
First I'd like to start off by saying HAPPY BIRTHDAY to me!!!!! My life has made such a drastic change for the better. Im not all the way in the clear, but Im getting better and better everyday. I made the decision to take control of my life and since my surgery last month, I couldn't be happier with my decision. My diet might not be the best this weekend, but you only turn 24 once! I will get back on track asap. Like my doc told me during my 1st fill, "This is not a race, it's a marathon.". I hope everyone enjoys their day. Happy St. Patty's day!

I can't believe this!
Byebyeband replied to Byebyeband's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Thank you all for the warm wished. It's only 4:10pm here in sunny L.A. but as soon as the clock strikes 5, I'm off of work and it's party time! -
How much time between first and second fill?
Byebyeband replied to stuchols's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
My first fill was last week 3/8/11 and I go back for my 2nd fill next week 3/22/11; exactly 2 weeks apart. -
Any Feb bandster gotten a fill yet?
Byebyeband replied to justplaintired's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I had my 1st fill 3/08/11 and I don't fill much of a difference yet. The process itself wasn't as bad as I expected. The worst part was the numbing shot, but it is over quickly. I go in for my 2nd fill next week 3/22/11 and I hope to feel a difference after that -
First fill/ feel like I am eating more!!
Byebyeband replied to jakrnsewing's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
OMG. I feel the exact same way. My first fill was this past Tuesday 3/08/11 and I definitely feel as though I am eating wayyyyy more than before. Im not eating more because I want to, Im eating more because I am even hungrier. I also ate right before my fill and am wondering if that affected it in anyway since my wonderful dr's office never gave me any instructions about it beforehand. I'm also having a problem stopping when I feel satisfied vs. being full; especially if the food is yummy. I know that part is in my head, but the physical hunger is out of this world. I can't wait until my next fill. -

Hello there! Looking for a buddy (male or female) to share this journey with. I'm being banded 2/8/11 and am nervous, excited, and would really like someone to talk to. Doesn't matter if you're already banded or about to be like myself. All feedback is greatly welcomed!!!!

I couldn't agree with you more! That's all I wanted, but I guess it just wasn't the way things turned out for me. Now that I spoke to him I hope the journey is a lot smoother now that he is aware that I do need that added touch of support, especially if it's being provided to his other patients. Im happy you can relate. -

Dr Feiz the disappearing surgeon!
Byebyeband replied to Byebyeband's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
So I met with him again yesterday and I do feel better. We were able to talk and clear the air. Bottom line, I think that he is an excellent surgeon and despite the minor setbacks I had, I feel great about my decision. This initial post was made in hast during a time where I couldn't reach him and was also going through a few problems in my personal life. That coupled with my anger about not reaching him, having to get his number from another patient wondering why I didn't get the same after treatment sort of got to me more than it should. I apologized to him and am now apologizing for this post. The fact of the matter is my surgery went great, I feel great, my incisions are tiny, and most of all he did a great job! I shouldn't have let my break-up which happened a couple of days prior and the feelings of abandonment from that influence such a hasty decision. The post should have been titled 'Tony the disappearing boyfriend" since he broke up with me 2 days after surgery and has ignored me since. LOL. Not to mention the fight I had with a very good friend of mine that same day. I was alone, sad, frustrated, upset, and vented. Bottom line it was wrong, I was wrong. I'm very happy with the decision that I made and for the record, Tony can kiss my soon to come tight ass! -
Im sorry to hear about your gas pains. Fortunately for me, I never really experienced that discomfort too much. Maybe the first day or 2 and that's it. Today is my first day back at work and I could just kick myself for leaving my Protein shakes, broth, and Water at home. Im hungry, sleepy, and cold lol. Im going to use my self control, though and make sure I stick to my liquid diet somehow while Im here. Hope everyone else is having a good day. Oh and Happy Valentine's Day

OMG I have a TWIN Congrats! Today was the hardest for me. I was watching tv all day and all these damn food commercials were killing me, but I stuck it out. You're so lucky to have that constant support when you need it. I live alone, so that can be both a good and bad thing depending on how you look at it. So far, according to my calculations, as of Saturday I lost 7lbs. I added you so we should definitely keep in touch. I second your last comment on continued success to all us LOSERS!

LOL. It was a repost. I posted the whole story in the Introductions forums. I was actually trying to delete this one because I didnt want to have double posts. LOL -
No problem! So far so good. Been banded since 2/8/11 and no problems other than being just a little hungry :-)

Dr Feiz the disappearing surgeon!
Byebyeband replied to Byebyeband's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
I completely disagree. Although his title and primary job is to perform the surgery, the majority of the surgery and it's success depends on the follow up. Not with the receptionists, but with the surgeon him/herself. Surely my insurance didn't pay 10s of thousands of dollars to speak to the women that take his meesages and have no legal standing to provide medical advice other than what is provided by the SURGEON. It all goes back to him. I barely even recognize him. I could just kick myself for not meeting him beforehand and not doing more extensive research, however, that doesn't excuse the fact that I chose him and there are certain things I expect from my surgeon pertaining to this procedure. -
Dr Feiz the disappearing surgeon!
Byebyeband replied to Byebyeband's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
He has finally called and informed me that my messages never reached him. We made an appt to meet on Monday and I hope that all will be corrected and I can move forward on this journey and actually be happy. Is that asking too much? I hope not. Thank you all for your amazing support. I would be lost without it.
