Dear duffy777, Wow, so sorry to hear about the blood clots, that must have been scary..............but it's better for you that they found them prior to surgery, even though it extends the liquid diet and surgery date. But the good thing is Feb. 1st is just around the corner! Best of luck to you....let me know how you do.

Congratulations Renee, I was banded on 1/14/11, and so ready for my life/body to change. You were fortunate with your insurance it took me 6 month diet program. I am also diabetic, hope you did well yesterday!!!!!!!!! Keep me posted............Lori

Hey Loves, I think everyone is scared and the pre-surgery diet is not something I don't think anyone looks forward to! What really helped me is reading post from other bander's and trying to stay positive.............this can change your entire life/body, which I am so ready for. Best of luck.........keep me posted

Will be thinking of you on Mon. I had the same surgery date as you and they just used terry strips. Just really starting to get some what itchy on the entry points. Wish you the best...........

Surgery went very well, on my 4th day out and doing great, have been out several times already. No real pain to speak of but I have had major surgeries in the past, so this was a piece of cake comparably.

Getitgirl, Best of luck for your surgery............you are very fortunate to have Tri-Care......... it's a 3rd insurance for me, so had to go thru with the 6 month diet plan and go thru all the hoops. But Just had surgery 1/14/11 and doing great, looking forward to all the changes! Best of luck to you and hope your Gall Bladder surgery goes well also, keep me posted!

20lbs. lost in about 12 days..............the post diet is just about the same, liquid protein shakes, jellow.............for 2wks then onto musy foods for 2wks then soids............remember this is such a short period of your life, I know for me I have been Obese for 15yrs so 8wks out of my life eating foods I am not crazy about, I can live with when looking at all the positive things this is going to do for me. I plan to loose over 1001lb..........Yea

Hi, Yea, I know about crushing the pill's have been doing, adding with applesauce. One of my meds. Meformin for Diabetes, have no problem swallowing now, but they are large and concerned when I get my first fill. I was informed that the meds that could not be crushed would have to be exchanged for something else, have to see what they replace it Will. As regards to pain level it has been extremely low..........but that being said, I have a very high tolerance for pain to do to 3 spine surgeries, RA and Spinal stenos,so what I feel versis what someone else might be different. But over all everthing went well for my surgery have only taken pain Rx's a couple of times. As to the pre-surgery diet, I know it sucks, but just think the pre/post diet is such a short time in your life and so important with healing and preventing complications in the future! I am so happy to have it and have lost about 20lbs already.................. Wish you the best of luck, let me know how you make out.

Yea, the storm has past and I should be good to go for Friday. Starting to feel so much better..............so Eager and so Excited!!!!!!!!!!!! Will let you know how things go on Fri.
