    Feeling depress

I had my band for 3 1/2 months now and I feel comfortable now with it. Well now that I learned how to work with it I don't seem to be losing any weight. At first I was walking on the treadmill at home and doing the Wii fitness but now I've joined the gym and I'm watching what I eat. I really think I'm at a good spot with my last fill because I'm not hungry as much. I don't get on the scale daily just on Mondays because I trying to get to 174lbs by Memorial Day. So do anybody have any suggestions on what maybe the issue or what I could probably do to start loosing weight again????

    Skechers Vs Reebok

I have the Reebox tone and they feel good but don't last long. I've asked my cardio trainer and she recommends the Reebox ZigZags which I've tried and they feel great also.

    Hamburgers?

I gave up red meat for Lent and I was like you I was craving a hamburger so bad. I got hooked on turkey meat. I use the 95/5 white ground turkey meat and mix it with the powder onion dip to give it flavor. I did this both on the stove and on the grill and surprisingly they where great and not dry.

    What is your goal weight?

I have 2 goals. My first goal is to be at 170lbs by July 5th for my brother's wedding and my second goal is to be at 130lbs by November 6th - My 32nd birthday! I fell off the wagon over spring break but I'm back on track working out 4 - 5 times a week and I also start coaching soccer again. Good luck to everyone!
  5. I just got a fill on March 7th and in the first week I felt like I hit my "spot" I did liquids for 4 days to be on the safe side since my doc said it was a big jump from my first fill. I lost 4 lbs but now I gained the 4 lbs back. I've been watching what I eat and actually I was more active since the kids were on spring break. Has this happen to anyone? I'm thinking of going back on a liquid diet because I felt so great 4 lbs lighter.....lol I guess I just want to know is this common to happen????
  6. Helllo I see you're in Waco not too far from me. I'm here in Arlington and started my journey in Dec 10. I'm loving it so far!

  7. Well I received my 2nd fill Monday (March 7th) and I seem to be having some issues...I think! I was okay at first then later that night I was in bed curled up because my stomach was hurting so bad. I just thought I had did too much activity after getting my fill. But honestly I did the same thing that I've done when I received my 1st fill and I had no issues then. My doctor stated that since it was a big jump on my fill to stay on liquids for an extra day. So I've done liquids since Sunday actually since I want my doctor to have a accurate visual I start my liquid diet the night before my fill. I did try to eat some soup last night and I was doing okay until I got up to put my bowl up. I got a sharp pain in my stomach and it later traveled to my chest. Have anyone ever encounter this feeling? Could my band be too tight??? I guess I'm just hoping its not that when in reality it maybe the issue. I don't feel the "stuck" feeling but I did throw it up. I figure I would give it some time and see what happens so as of right now I'm drinking my protein shots because the shakes seem to be too thick.

    Here We Goooooo

I feel like I'm in the same boat as you....I haven't told anyone but my husband because if my family finds out they will freak. My mom is a big believer that if you want it bad enough you would work for it. She doesn't realize that even having the band you still have to work for it. So as for right now I'm keeping it to myself. It's been great! I would also like to keep in touch with you and hopefully we could help each other.

    220 lb starting weight

Well my heavist weight was 220lbs and I'm 5'0" I had my surgery on 12/29/10 and had 2 fills since then. I'm down to 193 as of this morning. I don't regret getting banded and I'm happy with my success so far. You'll have some days where you get depress especially when you think you should have lost more weight than you have. But like you said already everyone is different. Good luck with your journey!

    pseudotumor cerebri

Well JerseyGirl I've had this since 1997. I went thru so many test and specialist before they could figure out what was wrong with me. I had it so bad that 1 spinal tap didn't work. Within less than 2 months I had to have 8 spinal taps. At that time I was a Jr in High school and I missed about half the year luckily for me I was ahead in my class and they let me pass to 12th grade. I was put on meds for a year and a diet and it was under control. After about a year, I wasn't getting my headaches anymore and my eye sight was good. Then it flared back up in 2009 but this time when they did the MRI they found out that I had a brain tumor. So in April 2009 I had brain surgery. This was the scariest time of my life considering I'm a single parent of 2. Everything went well with the surgery and luckily it wasn't cancer. Everything was going okay until Jan 2010 I was having those terrible headaches (the ones that feels like you wish you could take your head off so you don't have to bear the pain) then on Valentines Day I went in for a spinal tap. I did know losing weight will help the situation but everytime I went on a diet I would lose then gain so that's when I finally decided to get banded. I was banded on Dec 29th and I couldn't be more happier. I do still get some headaches but not that severe like before. I did the same thing you've done, I also got info from the internet and thought of the worst. Honestly after everything I've been thru I could say that I was scared for nothing. I don't know if you pray or not but I had to look at this way: God wouldn't put us thru anything we couldn't handle!

    2nd Fill

Well I got my 2nd fill yesterday.....4cc and at first I was doing okay but after a couple of hours I was in bed curled up because my stomach was in pain. I wasn't expecting that since my 1st fill went okay. I was lucky that I had some pain pills from my surgery still and that helped me alot. Have anyone ever had that happen to them?????

  13. I agree with the last post because I have Cigna and they paid for everything after I met my deductible. Now for the fills, I have to pay as an out patient. Sorry about your struggles.
  14. Okay....I would like to know from the people who was banded around Dec 29th how much weight you've losted. So its been around 8 weeks since my surgery and I've losted only 17lbs. So that's about 2.12 lbs a week. I just feel like I should of losted more weight. I had my first fill and it doesn't seem to be working. For some reason I feel like I had more restriction w/o the fill so I'm schedule to go back for another fill on March 7th. I guess the good thing is that I'm able to keep off the weight at the time being. I'm walking every other day and on the days I'm not walking I'm working out with my DVD's and Wii (Biggest Loser, Just Dance, Rumba, Fitness Plus, Football Training).

    Banded on Dec 29th, 2010

Thanks for the reply and I see what you mean. I guess I never really looked at it from that point of view. Thanks again!
  16. Well I had my first fill on Feb 7th and I feel like I have no restriction. I had more restriction when my band was empty. Is this normal???? Or do I need to give it time to work??? I called my doctor yesterday to see when is the earliest to come back so now I'm waiting for them to call me back....I'm soooo aggravated.....Uggh!

    weekly lost average?

I've been averaging about 2 lbs a week also. I've just got my 1st fill this past Monday(1-7-11) and I explained to my doctor how depressing its been because I thought I should have lost more by now but he confirmed that I'm on the right track and that it was normal to lose about 2 lbs a week.

    First Fill this Saturday

I just got my first fill Jan 7th, 2011 and at first I didn't see any change. My doctor said to do liquids for 2 days, mushy foods for 2 days and so on.....but to be honest with you I did liquids for one day and then mushy for one day because I felt like I was starving. But when I try to eat yesterday I felt full after a couple of bites and I was pleased. Everybody is different and hopefully you see a difference in your first fill.

    Perfect fill

Thank you for your encourgement. I really needed that today. For the longest I wanted the band and I finally got it in Dec 2010. I was having my up and downs but I finally got my 1st fill and I seem to see a difference with only 2.5 cc in my band.
  21. I was banded on Dec 29th and lost only 11 lbs. I get my first fill next Monday and I'm hoping that will help. I'm feeling like I'm getting hungry more often and now I'm having chest pains.....it's been 2 days now. What could it be???? Thanks in advance.....
  22. I was banded on Dec 29th and I have my moments like everyone has.....I've losted only 11 lbs. I get my first filled next Monday so hopefully I will start losing the weight again. Give it some time....I believe you will see it was worth it as I would too.

    Waiting for 1st Fill....

Well I was banded on December 29th, 2010. I didn't do the liquid diet before the surgery due to the late insurance approval and my doctor worked me in. Since then I losted only 10 lbs but seem to be at a halt...... My first doctor's appt. was on Jan 13th and he said that I was on the right track. But to me I thought I would have lost a little more than 10 LBS!!!!! I'm set to have my first fill on Valentine's Day. I can't wait. Could anyone let me know how their first experience was with your first fill? I would like to know what I can expect.
  25. It's crazy how it could get out of hand when you start telling people about what you plan to do with "your" body. I first looked into the band in March 2010. I've failed at many diets. I've told a couple of my family members on me "thinking" about the option and they seem to be pleased about it but I know once I tell them that I had finally "did it" they will have a different opinion about it. So as of right now only my boyfriend and one close friend knows about me getting the band....and everyone on this site....lol I really don't plan to tell anyone else even when I reached my goal.
