I just had mine completely unfilled yesterday and will not have a fill for about a month as well. My attitude at this point is to "pretend" that nothing has changed, continue to follow my new good habits, and to NOT think of it as a Holiday or I know I will gain weight! I have worked way too hard to mess it up and hope to prove to myself that I can do it without the fill. That said... A little negativity (devil) creeps in once in awhile saying "Oh now you can eat those things you haven't been able to eat" or "One day cheating won't be so bad". Want to help support each other to push those negative thoughts aside? Let me know. You can do it!!! Jenn

I know it is a major struggle for a lot of us whether to tell people about our LapBand surgery... It is also often talked about on this site but I have kind of unique situation at this point and want some opinions please. I decided to only tell my immediate family and close friends initially but now I am getting tons of comments and questions about what I am doing. For some bizarre reason I feel awful not telling people the "truth". I know I am telling them the truth by saying low carb, high Protein, more exercise, etc. but some family members are obviously wondering "how" after all these years and some of my Aunts have been so full of compliments! To add to this, I asked my Mom yesterday if she had told anyone (she promised she wouldn't) besides my brother who she already "slipped to". Well it seems she told at least one of my Aunts and my Memere. My family CANNOT keep a secret so I know it is just a matter of time that it all gets around. I don't want people feeling bad that I kept this from them but I also don't really want to deal with all the questions... Question is: Should I be proactive and just start telling everyone so at least I'm the one to tell them or should I just let the gossiping commence? Thanks everyone. Jenn

My Mom told people about my surgery
jayeljay613 replied to jayeljay613's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Thanks everyone. I am VERY upset with my mother but I am pretty used to her not being able to keep a secret. I had hoped that for something this important she would keep it quiet. I didn't want to tell people because I don't want people watching what I eat, I don't want them judging me for "taking the easy way" and believe me I KNOW that it is not easy but they don't! Why do I really care what people think? I wish it didn't matter but it does... -

jayeljay613 replied to Fatty McFatster's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I have lost 86 pounds so far and my bandversary is December 29th. So 14 more pounds to go in about 13 weeks. My weight loss has slowed down a lot but I think a pound a week is a good goal. You must feel amazing with 96 pounds gone! Jenn -

The Harvest Moon Challenge
jayeljay613 replied to size10again's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Checking in at 181.3! Down 2.5 pounds. I honestly can't remember my other goals but I know that I'm not doing great with exercise and really need to step it up this week. My husband and I started our own weigh in. He is always trying to gain weight so he and I are setting goals and supporting each other. My original goal was to get under 200 and now my goal is to weigh less than my husband for the first time in 15 years. Happy to say that I only have to lose 1.5 pounds to meet that goal. This weeks goal: Lose 1.5 pounds!!!!! Congrats Barbara!!! Happy dance for you! Jessica: Try not to be too hard on yourself. I know everyone says this but going to the gym builds muscle so you probably lost fat and will lose weight next week. Keep up the great work. Megan: I'm inspired with your exercise! That is impressive. Lizzy: Great job finding ways to meet your goals. I have little kids too and I swear I should weigh 120 pounds the way I run after them all the time. The great thing is that it is soooooo much easier to run after them now!!! Have a great week! Jenn -
Great job!!! You look fantastic! I had a similar experience this past weekend after buying a new outfit, I was excited to show off my new shape too! I remember feeling strange looking in the mirror thinking, "I look pretty good!" You should be really proud of yourself!

85 lbs in 1 year??
jayeljay613 replied to BaileyRose's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Just wanted to add that I have lost 81 pounds so far (in less than nine months) and I started at a similar weight (266 pounds). So it is definitely doable! You can do it. My goal is to hit 100 pound mark at my one year. My weight loss started to slow down at about 7 months but it is still creeping off! Better off than on! Best of luck to us all! Jenn -

July 4 Challenge 2011
jayeljay613 replied to MollyRN's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hit 70 pounds lost today and so excited. My 6-month bandaversary is next week and I never thought I would lose that much in 6 months. Little nervous I won't meet my goal for July 4th since the weight loss is slowing down a bit but I'm increasing my exercise to see if that helps. Good luck everyone!!!! Jenn -
December 2010 Bandsters out there?
jayeljay613 replied to GardenGal's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Congrats Purpleshell! You look fabulous!!! You must feel great too!!! Jess55: Almost to onderland! That is so exciting. I hit it last week for the first time in 15 years and I danced and screamed around the house for like 10 minutes! I was on a high for two days and am still smiling writing this now! Good for you, treating yourself to a trip for hitting the 100's! I want to buy new clothes but I hate spending so much money on in between sizes! I still have about 40+ pounds to lose and wish I could just get by until then! It is so nice to go try on clothes and be shocked that they fit though!!! I am wearing anywhere from a 14 to a 18 and I want them all to be 14's. Going to try to post my ticker see if it works. Keep up the good work guys!!! What happens if you don't get enough Protein?
jayeljay613 replied to bluescooby14's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Thanks for this post. I know I have been low on protein lately and I have been feeling very fatigued and a lot of headaches. Time to get back on track! -
I promised myself when I first started this process that I would remember to post good news so I'm here to report I met my first goal. I have lost 60 pounds in about 4 1/2 months and I feel like a new person. I am amazed at the things I can do now that I couldn't do 60 pounds ago. Just this past weekend I was hopping with my 4-year-old daughter and said to my husband, "I"m hopping! I never could hop before!" I also notice how much easier it is to get up off the floor when playing with me kids. It is these little things that make all the challenges so worth it! Going for a mile walk used to seem so long and now it seems like a short walk. Next goal is "onderland"! Will post soon!

That is great! Good for you!!! I just said to someone the other day "I don't care if I"m overweight, just don't want to be morbidly obese"!

Memorial Day Challenge
jayeljay613 replied to MollyRN's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I have to agree Molly that period weeks stink! Great job on the 1.5 pounds SVM10, I dread the day I hit the big plateau!!! I'm considering changing my goal weight since I am close already. Anyone else change theirs or just sticking to the original goal?
