Hey, Mandie! From one Mandy to another, I just want to let you know that I've been exactly where you are/have been and needed a swift kick to get me back on track. I would be honored if you wanted to be accountability partners. Let me know...We can do this!

I agree, lisacaron. If we are truly in tune with our bodies and listen to them, they will tell us what we need. That being said, I am thankful that everyone that works in my doctor's office (other than the doctor) is banded. They at least know what I'm feeling as I am discussing my symptoms and making my requests.

In need of some advice/words of encouragement
AmandaAR replied to roxie1705's topic in WLS Veteran's Forum
Roxie, what's been going on? How are you doing? I hope you've been successful getting back on track. Your weight loss has been amazing. Just a thought...and it may not apply to you...could you be a smidge too tight? Reason why I ask is that I was doing really well, losing weight consistently, following the rules, etc., but got dumb and listened to my husband's advice and got a .1cc fill over a year ago. That's not anything, but it put me in the red zone. For a year, I've been uncomfortable, gaining weight (50 pounds, ughhh), and eating tons of sweets and other sliders. I had no desire to eat healthy. Well, I finally got my head on straight and decided to listen to ME and my body and made an appointment with my doctor a week and a half ago. My husband was still urging me to get a full when I knew exactly what I needed...a reset. The nurse took 2.0cc out of the 3.5cc that was in my band. I IMMEDIATELY felt relief and IMMEDIATELY wanted to follow the rules again. I have not craved one unhealthy sweet, chips, other sliders, carbonated drink, etc. since my unfill. I WANT to eat healthy and feel tons better. I have also lost 10.4 pounds in a week and a half. So, in saying all of this, I urge you to listen to your body when trying to figure out what you need. Don't wait like I did. Best wishes, Amanda -
Cookie dough from Greek Yogurt- super yummy!

Thanks for the info about the sf chocolate chips, I wouldn't be as tempted to eat them outside of the yogurt. That being said, I tried this tonight, without the chips and it was so good! I used Dannon light and fit vanilla Greek yogurt, SF Toriani vanilla syrup, and 1 Tbs of peanut butter. I think this will be my nightly indulgence. -

Wow! I'm going to try that tonight. Question...have you tried it without the mini-chocolate chips? I LOVE chocolate chips, but don't think I need them in the house. I'll try the recipe without them tonight and see how it tastes. Also, is there any reason you used the sf syrup instead of the vanilla? -
Anyone getting banded on 1/24/2011
AmandaAR replied to nursegirl00's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I was nervous, too, but everything turned out fine for me. I was banded Jan 14th and was so worried about anesthesia, but they had me knocked out so fast once getting into the OR that I really had little time to think about it. Mention to your anesthesiologist that you are nervous and let him or her reassure you. I'm sure everything will be just fine and you'll wake up thankful the procedure is behind you. Let me know how it goes. Good luck!! -
Have you had a sleep study? My mild diagnosis of sleep apnea helped get me approved.

Got my lap-band on the 14th
AmandaAR replied to Miss Na's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I, too, was banded on the 14th. Recovery has been much better than anticipated. Gas in my abdomen area has been the biggest issue, but I am getting around, doing light laundry, dishes, etc. I am excited to begin this journey and thankful there are people here going right along beside me. Good luck on your progress. -
I'm being banded this Friday, Jan. 14th in Little Rock, AR. So excited, but nervous, too.
