Happy Cinco de Mayo! Cheesy Chicken Enchiladas

what is the calorie and Protein count per serving?
  4. Super congrats! But I suggest you buy at least one new thing that shows off your loss! I got rid of all my big clothes, went into my "too small" closet of various sizes, and got into almost all of them! Instant new wardrobe! But I also bought a couple new capris and tops, cause they are new and a different style, and really reinforced my high about losing this last, best, final, forever time! Keep up the good work!

    Happy with 1st Fill

I had my surgery May 26th, too! Got my first fill today. it didn't hurt at all. She had me tighten and push out my stomach (she said pretend pregnant---me, at age 63! hahaha), and she put the needle in and that was it It was a weird pressure when she took the needle out. She said someone described it as how a cork must feel as it's being taken out of the bottle!--perfect description! Anyway, she put in 4 cc's. She said that was the most she could put in for a first fill. I thought that was a lot, but it seems to be just right for me-- for the first time in a long time, I feel satisfied way quicker. But still, no feeling at all of gagging or "getting stuck," as some describe. I too am soooo very happy I did this!!! Congrats and continued success to us all!

    Lap Band Port site pictures

Your pics are such an inspiration! I looked like your #1 pic at surgery, but not yet at your #2 pic. Can hardly wait for #3! Super congrats!
  10. I went on a 5-day vacation to where I used to live for a friend's Mom's 90th b'day party. Saw a lot of friends I hadn't seen in awhile, and definitely not since being banded about 2 months ago. Everyone knew about the band and I got gobs of compliments of how well I was doing and how good I looked. I came home tonight and was so excited. With all the compliments, I was sure I lost 3 or 4 more pounds! (how silly is that??!). I shouldn't have, but I got on the scale, only to learn I GAINED a pound from when I left on my trip. I was so depressed, I said f... it! and started for the kitchen to get something illegal when a phone call stopped me..... The lady having the party for her Mom called me to tell me again how great I looked, that I am an inspiration, keep up the good work, on and on and on! I call that devine intervention! Instead of running into the kitchen, after the phone call, I came back to my trusty Lap Band Talk and read and read and got inspiration and motiviation, as I always do when I come visit my fellows bandsters! Thank you thank you thank you. Good luck to you all. Believe in devine intervention! :-)

    Sobriety and The Lap Band

I was banded almost two months ago. I have consumed 3 or 4 oz. of wine about 4 times since about week 4 or 5. But I am on about an 800 cal limit, so I make sure I get in my 80 grams Protein and 64 oz Fluid first (yes, I count the 4 oz wine as part of my fluids! :-)... before I indulge in that one glass of wine. My PA and nutritionist advise to drink sparingly and wisely as booze turns directly into FAT, not just sugar!! I used to drink 2 to 4 glasses of wine 3 or 4 times per week, so this is really a change for me. But now when my friends are drinking wine in those beautiful stemmed wine glasses, I usually imbibe in about 6 oz Water in my beautiful stemmed wine glass! Surprisingly, I'm quite OK with it, especially since I am now getting so many compliments on how well I am doing and how good I am looking! As my Mom always said, all things in moderation! Good luck to you.
  13. OMG, I am sooo sorry you have gone through sooo much! But still, you were able to lose an impressive amount of weight. That speaks so highly to your commitment to this. I wish you the best of luck in your recovery. Please keep us posted.
  14. Good info. Thanks! But I disagree with you about tucks being off topic- in fact, next month, a plastic surgeon is coming to our lap band support group! Thanks again for the beginning of my education on the subject! Continued best of luck to you.
  15. So what is a mini tummy tuck vs. a full tummy tuck? Why did you do the mini first? If you got the tucks in Korea, guess it wouldn't do any good to ask the price, as it may not be the same in the US.

Okay LADIES I need help please.....

So cool! I won't go shopping for clothes with my boyfriend cause I don't want him to actually put a number to to sizes I wear!
  17. I noticed the date of your post, and was wondering how you are doing now. Hope you are doing OK and that you got the right support and answers to go forward again.
  18. I drink a minimum of 64 ounces of water a day, and it sound like your soup is about the consistency of water. So I really think it is pretty much going through you like water...literally! Maybe sip the soup in smaller increments all day long--that way, you won't be so hungry at night. You sound like otherwise you are doing GREAT! Keep up the good work!

Okay LADIES I need help please.....

And remember to use a new-ish tape, cause they stretch out if used a lot!

Okay LADIES I need help please.....

What a great tutorial! I bet everyone on this site is following your instructions! I ran to my sewing box to get a tape measure and realized I didn't have one! So for now, all I could do was put measuring tape on my shopping list! Thanks for the info!!

5 day pouch test? Is it a fad...

Just wanted to let you know that I've appreciated every comment you've made-- you make so much sense. You have been very helpful for me. Thank you. And continued success to you.
  22. That's the actual name of it? Thanks for the heads up!

    Restriction finally

I couldn't have read your note at a more perfect time-- I am almost 2 months from surgery and have no fills yet. Been doing fine. But last night we went out to a leisurely dinner and a play. I got salmon like a good girl, but because it was just so tasty and healthy, I eventually ate the whole thing. AND, 1 1/2 glasses of wine! So no surprise, I gained a pound today. That was my first experience of not sticking to my 800/calories day-- I left 400 cause I knew we were going out, and I would have been OK if I stopped half way through, AND not gotten that second glass of wine! This will power can only work for so long. So I can hardly wait for the stop sign (my first fill) to happen! Like you reminded me, that is what we did this for! So your note kicked me right out of my pitty party first thing in the morning! Thanks!! And best of luck to you.
  24. I would love that! Thank you! mamamav1@yahoo.com
  25. Oh you are so right on about being the biggest person in the group!...I'm always given the passenger seat, and all the skinnies go in the back seat (including men!); some people, when describing someone else to me, even say stuff like "She is even bigger than you!"; and of course my "favorite," the looks of people when they realize they will have to sit next to me on the plane! The list goes on, as we all know and have experienced. You are an inspiration. Thank you for sharing your experience and wisdom!
