My daughter has an IPhone and uses the fitness pal. I will be getting an IPhone in Sept/Oct (when the new IPhones come out). Can hardly wait! Will join you then! -
Please continue to update. This is very interesting. I have never heard of a bodymedia fit. How does it work? I assume you got it from your dr?

I MISS MY BAND. . . .
oldiebutgoodie2 replied to sdpressl's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I agree with 54shirley....I was not filled til 2 months after the surgery. I wrote down all the calories and Protein and liquid I took in every day. It is so helpful to actually see in writing what you are taking in. I am still doing it, even though I now have 4cc and that is helping me somewhat. Also, I try to get in 80 grams of protein a day. That REALLY helps to make me not feel hungry. I feel lots of protein per day is the second best thing to the lap band! Good luck to you! -

And it just gets amazinger and amazinger! Get a couple clothes to show off your present weight loss! Congrats! -
Very shortly after my surgery, like maybe within 2 or 3 weeks, I was very weak and even with the smallest amount of energy expended (like going up 8-10 steps), I had to sit down cause I felt so weak. But it turned out that during that little time since the band, my blood pressure was so positively affected, my orginal bp meds were way too much. So my dr. took me off 3 of my 4 bp meds, and cut the last one in half! I immediately felt better. One of the many amazing pluses of this surgery! So if you are taking blood pressure meds, be sure and track your bp, and if low, talk to your doc! I know that doesn't have anything to do with sweating, but both are sort of related to affects of exerting energy. Hope this helps. Good luck to you.

oldiebutgoodie2 replied to kristenaz's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
wish I saw this before I bought my scale. I paid $45 at Kohl's, with it being supposedly 1/2 off, PLUS a 30% off coupon! -
GAINED 15.5 pounds of fluid!?!?
oldiebutgoodie2 replied to heatherh's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hey, you're an oldie moldie too! You look great! Super congrats on losing beyond your goal, and keeping it off! You're a great inspiration for me! I got the band so I would never go up and down again, and you are living proof it works-- even for us SEMI seniors! Thanks! -

You poor thing! You must feel so bloated! But drink MORE liquids to get the flow going! You should lose it in no time. And stay close to the bathroom! Good luck to you. You are at the beginning of an amazing journey! -
Since the band and ingesting a minimum of 80 grams protein a day, going to the bathroom has been difficult. So I started taking stool softeners for a few days and all was well with the world. But when I stopped, back to difficulties again. I have heard that taking laxatives regularly is bad, but is it the same for stool softeners? Is there a better, more natural way of attaining, shall we say smooth sailing? I eat lots of fresh fruits and drink coffee every morning (stuff that used to work "BB" (before band). It doesn't work now. Help!

stool softeners

Great to see another local here! Aren't Dr. Machado and Kylie the greatest?! I already drink a minimum of 64 oz a day, usually more like 75 to 90. But I'll kick it up to 100 for a few days once I get home (presently in Boston). Thanks! -

I also drink a minimum of 64 oz. water daily. I didn't even think of benefiber, although I used to get that for my Dad. Thanks! -
Weird, but entering One-derland was anti-climatic
oldiebutgoodie2 posted a topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I was so looking forward to entering One-derland, as everyone here seems so joyous when finally doing so. But I became a one-derland-ite two days ago and all I did was smile and say "cool!" No crying with joy, super exultation, anything. I still feel the band is my salvation and the best thing I have done for myself in a very long time. But after not seeing the under side of 200 for soooo long, I was surprised it was "just" another good weighing day. Anyone else feel that way? -
restriction question in 10cc lap band
oldiebutgoodie2 replied to em2's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Wow! I've never heard that before about the band not loosening after being on more than a year. I must admit, I was getting worried about getting too many fills to soon, cause what do you do when you are filled to the max and don't feel full?! That takes care of that worry! Thanks! And by the way, you are almost at goal! Super congrats!! -
restriction question in 10cc lap band
oldiebutgoodie2 replied to em2's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
My one and only fill is 4cc. I am counting Protein and calories the old fashioned way, and am losing weight. I don't feel restriction, but the band must be helping in some way-- maybe being even slightly banded does something hormone-wise? Losing weight has never been so relatively easy. But I sure would like to have the comfortable feeling you are experiencing! All of you who have reach the green zone are an inspiration to me for the long run. Thanks! -

So sad to hear you had to go through chemo. But since you gained weight, I see that as a good thing post chemo. Hope all continues to go well for you, and hope you find satisfaction with a healthy under-70--- you've come a long way, baby!! :-) -
Weird, but entering One-derland was anti-climatic
oldiebutgoodie2 replied to oldiebutgoodie2's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I never really had any milestones in mind- I put down a goal weight cause my doctor asked me to! I just knew I wanted and needed to lose a bunch of weight for my health and happiness, and that I needed this extra tool to do it once and for all. I am soooo happy the way things are going. I guess the no milestones for me is why getting under 200 was fine, but was overshadowed by losing 2 more lbs that day! But even tho I don't have any official milestones, I can't tell ya how good it feels to fit into regular large and extra large tops, and 16 bottoms! Now that is a definite high! -

Do you ever feel like a fraud?!
oldiebutgoodie2 posted a topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Usually, I feel good when people compliment me on my weight loss, how good I'm looking, etc. But sometimes, like lately when I haven't lost anything for a few days, or God forbid even gained a pound, I feel like a fraud-- it actually makes me feel guilty and discouraged! I think these wonderful people are eventually going to be disappointed cause I just may stop losing forever!! Has anyone else felt this way and found a way of getting over it, other than feeling bad about yourself til you eventually lose again?
